The Queen’s Head Askham
Askham, PenrithI had a wonderful experience here. For lunch, I chose a selection of small plates because there was so much tempting food on the menu it was hard to pick just one dish. The homemade slaw was absolutely delicious, and I enjoyed my meal while sitting at the bar. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxing, and both the staff and locals were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I’d definitely recommend a visit. It’s also dog friendly and offers a great selection of local beers.

Lowther Castle Inn
Lowther Castle Inn, Hackthorpe, PenrithIf I could give more stars for the food I would gladly do so. My lamb Henry was fabulous. Plenty of gravy and vegetables. The roast potatoes were better than perfect. I will recommend this place gladly but you need to book a meal as it was full.
I was happy with the price also.
