British Restaurants in Ulverston

“We stayed one night here before walking the Cumbria Way. We were made extremely welcome and they made a fuss of our dog. The rooms are slightly dated but spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent and they made us a packed lunch for later. I would have no hesitation recommending it.”

“My friend and I went for Sunday lunch, and the usual chef was away.We ordered the beef roast. As much as the meal went, the beef was lovely, plentiful. The roast potatoes were the size of the top of my thumb, and 5 of them ! Vegetables were delicious, sprouting broccoli and carrots. The Yorkshire pudding was OK. But, no mash, no boiled. The meal was lacking, and as if they had ran out of potatoes.I decided to have a pudding, I chose Apple Strudle, although the bowl and the custard was nuked by microwave. The struddle was cold..however they changed for fresh peice of Strudle and it was hot.The staff were attentive, pleasant and I guess they have had better days and I will go again when the usual chefs returned.”
