Hadn't booked to eat, but friendly staff accommodated us even tho' they were busy. We had Cumberland pie which was very tasty and a sizeable portion. Felt like I'd eaten when I left. Good choice of meal options, even though they'd run out of the carvery, not that we were bothered. Would certainly recommend a meal

We were staying at the nearby Premier Inn but didn't fancy the food there so searched online for somewhere nearby and the Farmhouse popped up. So after a wet morning at the local zoo on Thursday we decided to try out the Farmhouse on the way back to the hotel, WOW, we couldn't decideso we both had the Cumberland pie it was absolutely delicious! So much so we returned on Friday afternoon and both had the Catalonian Chicken, again absolutely delicious, if we are ever up that way again we'd definitely go back there

Went for the Sunday Roast and I had brisket.All the food was delicous I just thought portion size was a tad small.Everything else was spot on!

Took our family for a Xmas get together 20 of us we pre ordered 2 weeks before but some had ordered off old menu and manager said had tried to get in touch with me with out success I have a answer machine but no message from her So on the night we had to reorder Waited 1 hr 20 mins before starters came out The duck was tuff could hardly eat it when mentioning this AMY MANAGER SAID IL tell the chef mine came out 2 big chunks not sliced One meal was cold had to be sent back She told me it was sliced I can assure you it wasn’t I have been to see manager today who i might add is very obnoxious and needs a few lessons in customer care her attitude stinks right from when I booked in oct She stated she asked was everything ok and the party said ok as they didn’t want to upset us after taking them all out We booked room for twenty in oct but she said if a party of more than twenty booked after us we had booked we would be moved out of the private room to accommodate them If we hadn’t paid a deposit of £400 we would have walked out I could go on and on about her attitude she shouldn’t be in the job we spent over £800 that night and her reply was what do you expect there was 20 of you Needless to say we won’t be going again she spoke to me if I was a bit of a kid not a 75 year old The only thing good was the table was set out like a horse shoe so everyone could speak to each other Didn’t even offer me a glass of water today while I was waiting for her to speak to Or a small discount for the long wait and mix up with pre orders I must add we went in oct 16 of us and couldn’t fault it Never again setting foot in there she’s to miserable

Arrived a very large party of 20 for a Xmas family meal. NEVER AGAIN!! Told as we arrived that the menu we ordered from had changed and that neatly everything we pre ordered had changed. The rude manager with an attitude said she tried 3 times to contact us about this yet no message was left AND the original menu is still up on their website. Starters eventually came 45 mins later which were spicy but reasonably ok. Mains came 3 had duck with was very tough and not really edible and I had steak pot with half rice and chips which was nice but only got 4 chips. Veg was served for those who chose it , which was quite unusual to be served mainly sprouts and nothing else. Desserts were the best part of the meal. Service from the rest of the staff was good. Told staff at end of night dick was tough. (Even spoke to someone from another party who agreed) wouldn’t advise anyone to arrange a large party to dine here as you might get a different menu to start and rude manager to attend to you.

Unfortunately, it's disappointing. After a 50min wait for food, my 10yr old sons medium steak came back more than over done, and my other sons order was only half right.The manager came over to see what the problem was, offered to replace the steak but couldn't say how long it would take. No apology was offered and not even an offer to reduce the bill.Overall a poor experience, especially given both issues were for the children's food and no remorse was shown.
