Usually go there about twice a month nowadays, although we have been every week lately. My husband can get all sorts to suit himself but I would normally have difficulty getting suitable food when eating out and it is a treat going to this pub. There are a few choices with my standout favourite being the Butternut squash and spinach lasagne. It so tasty and plenty of cheese in it making it lovely and moist . Either the salad or vegetables go beautifully with it, but a special mention must go to their chips. They are delicious. Every time we go for a meal I think that I will have something different but inevitably I cannot resist the Lasagne and accompaniments. You won't go hungry! The owner and her staff are so lovely and the atmosphere is good even when we are first through the doors! It is a wonderful traditional pub with customers that have always seemed happy to interact with us if that is what you want and they do takeaway too, but we wouldn't do that as it would be cold by the time we got home and besides we love to go there. Dogs welcome too!

Met friends. The first time that I had been in the pub in years and I was truly impressed. Good beer (Timothy Taylors), excellent food (try the pate and the haddock and chips), well priced on a Thursday and an overall lovely pub. Well done. I will be back!

Good little pub with great food. I had the bistro steak and it was absolutely delicious! Really good and attentive service too. Could have been a touch cosier in the decor but I'm being super picky. Another gorgeous, reasonably priced meal. We’ve been several times over the last 3/4 months and always enjoyed our choices. Good choice for vegetarians. Menu changes regularly so always an interesting choice of starters / mains / desserts. Good atmosphere and plenty of parking. Two alcohol drinks, 2 mains and one dessert was £41.

After all the bad reviews.....I thought i better tell everyone about our experience. 8 of us went for Dinner . The food was top notch and the service was brilliant . The prices were good too . Will definitely be going back soon . 8 people can't all be wrong . x

Never in my life met staff/managers like it. The customer is always right is not something they believe in. One of 4 people dining was not happy with their meal and the mayhem this caused was unbelievable. Unprofessional, rude and never made to feel so unwelcome anywhere!! We go away every year but have never experienced such negativity anywhere.They have tried to point the finger at us but we done nothing wrong, vile people
Terrible food appalling service owner and barmaid horrible. Won't be back. Stayed in the pod beside the pub. Ninja was filthy and had to be cleaned out before we could use it. Carol the owner was not approachable nor was she friendly. Definitely wouldn't recommend

After a busy day my partner and I decided to go out for dinner and wanted to go somewhere with a nice friendly atmosphere and relaxing natural views so a friend suggested The Aikton Arms.The establishment, atmosphere and staff were extremely friendly, warm and welcoming and we could feel ourselves unwinding from the moment we arrived.The service was first class with very experienced, professional and attentive staff. Nothing was to much. We were greeted, served our drinks and shown to our table within 2mins of entering the bar. The lady who took our order was very professional and knowledgeable about their menu regarding the various options like vegan, vegetarian, dairy, gluten and allergies.The food was obviously freshly homemade with very good quality ingredients and was full of flavour. The servings were very generous and great value for money.We will DEFINITELY be returning to The Aikton Arms again very soon and I highly recommend that if you already haven't been there then you should as you will not be disappointed.
