Lovely quiet stop while in the northern Lake District. The coffee is sublime and the service is better.

Cracking spot! Much bigger than it looks from the road with glorious views down the valley!Called late Saturday afternoon and still had loads of choice of cake and it was a generous size when it came! All the staff were very pleasant.Coffee was hot and full of flavour.Cafe was clean as were the toilets.Just a warning though - this is a cash only cafe through no fault of their own.Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

If you want Basil Faulty service off Jenny the owner get yourself along she is so rude, which way she spoke to the pensioner's was unbelievable . The other staff are excellent btw as was the food.
Finally got an opportunity to visit, been passed several times, always looks like a village hall, and in essence that's exactly what it is, someone has had the great idea however of running a cafe from within it. Great homecooked, to order food. CASH ONLY place, at all times. No issue for us as we knew before we went. As its quite some distance from any nearby towns/villages to dispense cash, best to ensure you haveenough beforehand. Not an expensive place, meals on parr with most cafes in towns and villages surrounding. Home made desserts on offer so ensure you leave room to try them out. Will definitely be back!Parking: Gravel car park, free to park, plenty of spaces.Wheelchair accessibility: Drive right up to the doorDietary restrictions: Mainly vegetarian options, not sure about GF or the buyers choice of vegan.

The cakes are amazing, everything is homemade, from scones to tray bake to pavlova... and all huge! The tea was nice too ?

Very busy when we were there but all the staff were hurrying around and we did not have to wait too long. Good wholesome food and friendly staff. Have been there many times and will continue to do so. Only drawback was the car park was a bit small to cater for a restaurant when full up.Parking: Already covered in main comments.

Afternoon Tea at The Cragg's is a "must do"! We have often visited for a meal, and even for a "birthday breakfast" of Lemon Meringue pie, but afternoon tea was a first for our party of four. The food was amazing -- both attractively presented and delicious. There were generous portions of savouries (including finger sandwiches on both wholemeal and white bread), sausage rolls and quiche. In addition to the scones, cream, and jam there were an amazing array of sweets. For me, the crowning touch was the use of the Old Country Roses tea service that was simply perfect.
