Went for lunch to celebrate my birthday with my Mum. Had a lovely meal, food is absolutely gorgeous, I had the Drunken Cow Slab and Mum had the Codfather. Friendly place, lovely and warm and very welcoming.

Lovely historical pub, took my visiting friend for dinner after a little walk up the Cumbria way to clear our heads Saturday gone ....always a nice little pitstop after a walkI had the fish and chips he had the burger , great portions when they cale...we did have a good wait for them I've gotta say and as someone said the batter on the fish was inconsistent nice and crispy in places then that tivj in others it was stodgy soft probably not cooked through the batter..It was £17.95 had it been £13 I wouldn't have mentioned it but when things are these prices they need to be close to perfect I think. The fish itself was nice though, the 2 young girls on the bar were lovely and attentive. The pub as always lovely ambience, will be back with family the main dining are for evenings is a stunning room..Thank you all.

Went for Suday lunch, large group of 9, we booked a table, we were late (15 mins) but were still greeted pleasantly and served quickly. Food was amazing, couldn't fault it. Ine of the best Sunday dinners I have had, would've liked a little more on the plate but other than that faultless.

Great country pub. Haven't had a bad meal there and the warm pork scratchings on the bar are so addictive.

We popped in for a meal as we were in the village for the Potato Day. We were taken with the place as soon as we walked in. Emma and her team were marvellous and I couldn't fault them. As for the food, the beef we had was perfect. We will definitely be going back there and would recommend it to

We came here for a meal whilst on holiday nearby. The service from Emma and her team was outstanding made you feel so welcome and the food was out of this world, we will definitely be returning and have already told friends and family to visit.
Stopped for a meal while on holiday. All our meals were lovely and great value for money. Was very busy so would advise booking. Hope to be back soon.

We have been here a couple of times whilst staying at Wallace Lane Farm. It never disappoints. This time there were four of us - three of which opted for the fish and chips - WHICH WAS EPIC. Great pub and would absolutely recommend. ???

Emma & team are the best. We were a party of 34 celebrating a special birthday & wedding anniversary. Nothing was too much. The food was delicious. The service was spot on and the pub is welcoming. Nothing to fault - would recommend. Thank you for having us.Food & drinks: Delicious. Great portions. The pie slab was amazing. All served hot.

We decided to try this pub as we’d heard it had really improved. However, it was really poor. I had scampi and chips and paid for 12 pieces but got 10 - both were cheap frozen and processed! Thank goodness for the bit of salad on the side. I wouldn’t buy or serve poor frozen food like this at home, so why would I go out and pay £14.95 for it!!
Great food and good service ? ?
