I could not have been happier with our stay at Cedar Manor. It far exceeded our expectations. The Afternoon Tea was the BEST I’ve had (and we only recently had Afternoon Tea at Harrods and it surpassed that!). The hotel was in a walkable location, service was fantastic and the hosts were lovely. Highly recommend.Rooms: Large enough with a hidden TV, roomy bathroom and comfortable beds.Walkability: Plenty of local walks straight from the hotel that kept us busy for days.

I recently stayed at Cedar Manor with my partner for 3 nights to attend a wedding in the area. Our expectations were exceeded. The main building is adorable (quintessential British manor house with manicured garden) and the rooms were very homely and clean. The chocolates and prosecco at arrival were an incredible touch. We stayed in the Coniston room and woke up to a gorgeous view and Nespresso in our rooms each morning. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom included nice products and amenities. My partner appreciated the ironing board and iron in the room which worked well for pressing his shirt. We will most certainly be back for a city break. Thank you particularly to Jonathan for his expert recommendations and top service.Walkability: This is a 5-min walk into Windemere high street, excellent location.

Having read all the 5-star reviews, we decided to book a few nights at this property to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Our expectations were exceeded as Caroline and Jonathan made sure that we had everything we needed (and more) to make our stay one of a kind.We also had a delightful afternoon tea, which I highly recommend. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. We had breakfast every morning and we enjoyed everything they served with no exception. They do pay attention to every detail and accommodate everyone. We will certainly return as this was one of the most relaxing places we stayed at.

An authentic B&B experience in the English countryside. It's a great mix of history, comfort, and hospitality. My wife and I are enjoying every moment. The owners are so nice and friendly. Highly recommended ?

Amazing Afternoon Tea What an incredible afternoon tea we had at Cedar manor for our anniversary treat. The welcome we received was special and the attention to detail with the presentation of the afternoon was really lovely . The little starter was a lovely touch along with the beautiful selection of sandwiches and cakes and pastries. We enjoyed the Prosecco deal and thought it was value for money. Thank you so much… a special memory to savour.

If you have the opportunity to stay in the Coach House, then go for it! It’s a lovely self-contained area away from the main house with a parking spot right outside the front. It is beautifully decorated to a very high end, with an amazing bathroom. You even get the opportunity to have breakfast bought to you in your own dining area upstairs! The hosts Caroline and Johnathan are amazingly helpful and clearly take pride in what they do. You must also try the afternoon tea, which was truly delicious!

We didn’t want to leave and could have happily moved in for good. Jonathan and Caroline make you feel so welcome. They are such a lovely couple. We stayed in the Windermere room which is just gorgeous. The bed and pillows are so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud. I eat a gluten free diet and they were exceptional in accommodating this. It’s the little things that are so appreciated like GF biscuits in the room. (And the chocolates ;-)) The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. I would recommend the Cumbrian grill with GF sausages to the unbelievably good GF pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. The Hotel location is very convenient. A 5 minute walk to Windermere town centre or a stroll down the footpath to the lake, with the number 599 bus stopping just outside to explore further afield if you wanted a break from the car. We had a fantastic stay at Cedar Manor and will be back to stay and explore more of this beautiful part of England.

Wonderful property! We are lucky enough to be staying in The Coach House - if you can, please try that suite! Johnathan and Caroline (the proprietors) have clearly put their heart and soul in to Cedar Manor and deserve the awards and accolades that this delightful holiday property brings. It should also be mentioned that, as hosts, they are delightful, kind, funny and deeply caring. The afternoon tea is first class - above our already high expectations. Even if you are not staying you should try their afternoon tea!Highly recommended as a luxury location for exploring the lakes. And due to its close proximity to town, easy access to everything - you can’t go wrong with Cedar Manor!

This review is strictly on the afternoon tea experience only. The food was absolutely wonderful, the lady who served us food and the male staff (presumed the owner) were both very kind and friendly. I felt that the afternoon tea was an absolute treat since there was nothing to fault with, that was only until it was ruined by the rude woman who was driving past in black 4x4 (presumed female host) behind me.After we finished the afternoon tea, I decided to let my dog out from our car to let him stretch his paws before we set off, the rude woman mentioned above asked me if I was looking for a public footpath so I answered no. She then started to lecture me about the ‘no dog policy’ in the property as well as giving me the direction to the public footpath I did not ask. Then she drove further towards the car park and parked there, got out of her, and started to tell me off in the most rude, condescending way possible again saying that my dog would upset her dogs but I did not see any dogs nearby, nor I heard any other dogs. I even explained that we just had an afternoon tea here and we’re about to leave, but that did not make her apologise or anything, she just turned around started to yank stuff out of her boot in a very hitch manner, mumbling loud “stupid..blah blah” in an angry tone, which, by the way, was clear enough for me to hear even though I was at least a few feet away from her. I was so bewildered and frustrated at how this perfectly lovely experience went down the hill like this so quickly and I felt too upset to enjoy the rest of my Saturday, hence I took three stars off even though I did enjoy the food here. Whoever that Karen woman was, please make sure that they cannot behave that way to ANYONE. We were considering to stay overnight when we got there and probably would have come back again for more delightful afternoon tea but not after this. After all, there are many more lovely hotels and resorts to explore in Lake District.

Very enjoyable weekend away.Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was excellent , our room was spotless and very comfortable .The bathroom products, tea and coffee etc provided in the room were premium quality. We were a 10 minute walk from fantastic bars and restaurants . The breakfast was delicious with ample choice. I would recommend the afternoon tea and the platters served in the evening. There is a lot of attention to detail here and this is especially true with the quality and preparation of the food served.A beautiful area and fantastic accommodation. We will definitely be back .
