31-33 Crescent Rd, WindermereOnly stopped off for a coffee, so can't comment on the food. The coffee was lovely - nice roast and lovely flavour. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The only downside, and it's a very small downside, is that there was a strange smell in the shop similar to that of damp. That said, it wasn't pungent and didn't impact my visit. Would recommend and I'll be back next time i'm in Windermere.

The service was very good.
The food... the mozzarella was a little dry. The crayfish was fine. We both had the beef however, outstanding job, outstanding. Beef was perfectly cooked and the mash was super smooth. I'd like a little more gravy but that's just me. Cheesecake was a little pretentious with paintbrushed chocolate sauce on the plate. It's perfectly good without it.
Just need to sort out the look and feel of the place really.

Today we followed our noses and discovered this restaurant. The food looks and tastes as good as it smells. We can thoroughly recommend the baked aubergine with tomato sauce and mozzarella as well as the seafood salad. My husband finished off with a chocolate cake and ice-cream. It looked heavy but was deliciously light and even I, who don't like any chocolate desserts, loved it when I tried it. My husband said the seafood salad was the best he had had in a long time and raved about the dessert. We will definitely eat here again. The staff were also very friendly and the service was quick.

It's not the biggest Interior, so the queue did stretch outside of the Shop (but this is to be expected of a popular Shop in a Tourist Area, and wasn't an issue).Couldn't fault the Customer Service. Both individuals behind the Counter were really polite, friendly, and welcoming.Fantastic Selection of Ice Cream Flavours ( I had a Double Cone of Rum 'n Raisin/Cookie Dough, My Wife had a Double Cone of Cinder Toffee/Salted Caramel, Our Daughter had a Tub of Bubblegum Flavour, and our Son had a Single Cone of Vanilla). Absolutely delicious.Highly recommended, and we'll see you again, soon.

The food was great, very tasty and more than excellent portions. The atmosphere feels very warm and relaxing and was perfect for a nice dinner. The couple running this place are so friendly, happy to talk and recommend places in the Lake District. We had a lovely evening all thanks to these lovely people working ever so hard to please customers. Would definitely recommend!

Note that you may well queue - we got there early in hopes to just get in as the first groups were finished, and we felt lucky, as, despite the horrendous rain, about 10 mins after we sat, the queue was about 20 people, and by the time we left, it was a good bit more. On a sunny weekend.
But don't let that put you off, it is well worth it, we tried a good few breakfast and brunch places in the area, and this stood out! There is a reason there are queues.

15 Main Rd, WindermereThe prices are really reasonable, which is always a bonus in the Lakes. I’d highly recommend the Philly cheese steak sandwich/toastie—it was absolutely delicious! The brownies are also amazing, and they do homemade soup too, which isn’t on the menu, so you have to ask about it (like a fun little secret dish!).
The lady who owns and runs the café is so friendly and welcoming—she really creates a warm, relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to come back again. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

I read some of the reviews saying it's gimmicky... Yes, it's gimmicky but that's the fun of it! The foot-long bar is very amusing and the maximalist ceiling decor starts many a conversation. Who doesn't like a gimmicky bar???

Ahhh what a place! I've been visiting this area recently and was recommended by one of the artist to visit this place if I want to try something different than sausage roll or bap.
And honestly? What a place!
On the first day I went for farm sausage (check the picture above) and it's delicious! So much meat! Perfectly crispy pastry while keeping meat juicy! Delicious coffee from freshly roasted beans.
The atmosphere is very friendly and the place hold a very minimalistic but tasteful decor.
The experience was so good that I decided to go back there again on my way back from Leeds. This time ordered Shakshuka croissant, Bacon and cheese croissant and chorizo mozzarella with sea salt pastry. Again, there was no disappointment in flavour and amount of ingredients used (bacon/cheese/veggies)
The management is so friendly and welcoming! We spent like easily half and hour or even longer chatting/laughing and having a good banter!
This is definitely a place worth to visit not only because it's good to support local economy but especially for flavour and atmosphere!
I will be back there for sure!

As you enter the premises, the smell of perfectly cooked pastries, Wafd and dance up your nostrils. The coffee is tease, hot drinks cakes, another sweet sundries are all on display for you to see in neat glass cabinets. I would recommend the quality breakfast meal deal where you can get a hot drink and a warm breakfast roll or a personal highlight. Overall a very good dining experience on a budget. Will visit again. It's definitely one of the best places for a snack & coffee that's easily accessible from the lake. Made even better by Dan & his staff being very friendly & welcoming.
