We visited here because we were under the impression that it would be nice.The service was lovely but the food and coffee were really poor.We had a jacket potato with tuna and cheap cheese,toasted cheap cheese sandwich with tasteless decaf coffee, flat white and a coke plus a cake which was nice. If you are going to charge £8.95 for a toasted sandwich and £9.95 for a jacket potato then make some effort with the ingredients.Do yourself a favour and walk past this establishment and find somewhere who takes a pride in the food that they sell.

A warm welcome after coming in from the rain. Ordered poached egg and avocado on toast and a mocha. The food was good and the mocha is honestly the nicest I’ve ever had - very indulgent and such a treat! Unfortunately, my umbrella was taken from the stand outside the cafe but the waitress very kindly gave me another before we left! Would definitely go back.

Just popped into the cafe/restaurant for a bite to eat on a rainy post New Years Day. Really good food and plenty of it. Good service and good prices. It has the appeal of a traditional cafe and it doesn’t disappoint. Highly recommended.

Hadn’t noticed this cafe on our day trips to Bowness before. Went in and what a Great cafe. Lovely ambience, friendly service and good food and coffee. Will definitely return.

Disappointing visit - ordered lunch and a cake and the lunch came with a hair in. I quietly explained to the waitress however were not interested. I ate what I could, paid and left quickly. Expensive for what it was so wouldn’t recommend however only positive it is dog friendly.

Booked Monties for a one night stay….,perfect location for all our needs…..THE comfiest bed ever …,and a most delicious breakfast in the morning (I had vegetarian option and my husband had full English).. Hassle free check-in and check -out… Will definitely book again.

Visited Monties earlier this year for breakfast and it was lovely but returned today and was disappointed my husband had Greek yogurt with a little fruit and an orange juice and I had toast with avocado and poached eggs and we had a tea and coffee -nearly £27 bit steep for breakfast I think and I had to leave the toast because it was mushy - will probably look elsewhere next time I’m afraid ?

I went into Monties for a Breakfast with my family. I found that the staff were very welcoming and the food was very nice. The only negative aspect of our visit was the fact that an obnoxious woman took upon herself to approach me and my family to complain about the sound on my 3 year old daughters phone being too loud whilst we were in the middle of eating our breakfast. I would like to stress that the woman was on the other side of the room and the people on the tables next to us had made no complaints as the volume was not very loud. Also none of the staff had approached us about this so I find it very cheeky that another customer in a smaller party paying less money than us had the cheek to disrupt us whilst we were eating. As a result of this we ending up switching my daughters phone off with the kids tv on which got her very upset as she had nothing to entertain with and one of us then had to take her outside so as a result of this our breakfast was spoilt. Our experience was further worsened when the window which was next to our table was opened by a member of staff as their were complaints that it was too warm inside which is obviously easy to say when your sat on the other side of the room where the obnoxious woman was sat.

Large room with king size very comfy bed. Fairly quiet and good temperature with vertical fan. Full English Breakfast is very tasty, Hot and not greasy. Staff very friendly and always offering more. We will be back.
