We had a lovely takeaway from this restaurant. Could not fault their service. Very speedy and the food was excellent. Thank you.

Delicious food. You could easily walk past this little Indian restaurant as it’s a little bit hidden and also quite basic with the decor but the food and service was great.

Was a last min dinner plan as we arrived late to our hotel. It's quite difficult to notice from the road, as it's location is up what seams to be a fire escape. Either way, to summarise the place needs modernisation. If there was another curry gaff in the area I'd think it would struggle. No card payments in this day n age is strange. It seems by reading the reviews this has been broke quite a while ? Nothing worse when it's hammering it down to go locate a cash machine to pay. Not to disserve the food as it was very good. Served well and was hot. Staff really seem to care about service and can tell with improvements this can be worthy of 5 stars. I must say the 4 poppadoms and condiments was like 7 quid?

Almost didn't visit after reading the reviews, but as usual ignored them and went anyway. Place was full on arrival but soon got a table. Liked the fact that dips for poppadoms could be ordered individually. Had 2 mains, rice, chips, naan and a glass of wine each for just over £40. Food was excellent. Would have gone back next night if we hadn't been going home. Cash only wasn't a problem, already seen it online. Staff were quick to take the orders and brought the food promptly.

Had real reservations about going here after looking at some of the scathing reviews but was very pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and the service from Raj and Jay was lovely too.The prices were very reasonable too - Will definitely return when back in the area.

Tried this place because of recommendation from a friend in Windermere, I can honestly say this was the tastiest Curry ( Naga) I've had in a very long time, absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend this place.

Superb food and excellent service. Staff super friendly! Great choices for us veggies too, lots of other places only offer mild options. Our mouths on fire! So tasty!

When I opened the chicken balti it was swimming in grease and oil. Onions were so dry so clearly not fresh. Had about 3 pieces of chicken so went hungry.

It was not a nice experience at all, the place is not welcoming at all, it is on first floor and staff are so poor attitude and accept only cash so first instance they chase us to ATM for getting cash and food serve is rigid and not flexible.... they cannot accomodate requests and last of all its NOT INDIAN and those who prefer indian vegetarian food please stay away!

Always visit when we are in Ambleside (normally 3 to 4 times a year) food and service always very good. We have recommended this restaurant to many of our friends and they all concur that the service and food is consistently good.

In the annals of culinary mediocrity, one encounters establishments that audaciously masquerade as purveyors of Indian cuisine, only to offer a lamentable imitation, a sorry charade of flavors, bereft of the vibrancy that truly defines India’s gastronomic tapestry. Alas, this particular dining establishment, if one could even dignify it with such a term, succeeds only in dishing out insipid and egregious fare, a tragic affront to the rich heritage of Indian culinary artistry.

Firstly we ordered 2 poppadoms which arrived with the usual sauces along with drinks we ordered. So far, so fine. Then we ordered our meals which weren't cheap but we had been lured in by the pleasant smell outside the restaurant. The food arrived within 5 minutes, for me never a good sign of freshly cooked food. My wife's mushroom sagwala was watery and just OK, my Chicken Naga had decent flavour but the chicken was dry, another hint that it wasn't freshly cooked. The service we received was OK, the waiters were polite but I wouldn't go as far as friendly. When we received the bill, we were shocked to see the 2 poppadoms and sauces had cost us £5.55! Never, anywhere, have I paid this. I questioned it and was told this is correct as the "pickle tray" as they described it, was £3.75. Utter rip off, absolutely no other description for it. Overall the meal was £50 for 2 drinks, 2 poppadoms, 2 curry's, a naan and one rice.In our opinion it was not worth the money and we felt shortchanged. We would not recommend.

We ordered a takeaway early on a Saturday evening and were very disappointed with the food. It was all only lukewarm and most of the dishes were quite poor. For example the chicken pakora didn’t contain any chicken, the mushroom bhaji sauce was thin and the mixed vegetable biryani didn’t have many vegetables in it and also didn’t come with an omelette even though the menu said that it did. Would not recommend.
