This is worth visiting even if you’re not interested in the museum or been before (like us!). The food is top notch and relatively inexpensive compared to lots of other places in the area. Recommend the soups, try whatever is on offer and it’s going to be good!

Another beautiful meal at Windermere Café. As always, staff are polite, friendly and helpful. We had the cheddar and onion soufflé - delicious! Followed this with scrumptious damson bakewell...and all helped along by the amazing, beautiful views across the lake. Perfect!

We went here a few months ago and had a really enjoyable lunch so last weekend we decided to make a return trip,I really wished we hadn't,the menu was very limited, all sandwiches were served without butter on insipid looking Ciabatta, they looked like they'd just been dragged out of the freezer & filling bunged in.we actually picked our filling from the kids menu as none of the fillings on the main menu where suitable.Unfortunately we will not be returning & it seems like others had also decided the same as there were only about a dozen other customers!
