We were so impressed with the food, staff and service here.We arrived late to the Peak District and nowhere was serving food. Another pub directed us here (showing how well respected they are) and we found friendly staff and beautifully cooked food at very reasonable prices. They also seem to be used to fussy eaters going so far as separating the pickles from the burger just in case.I wish we weren't 3 hours away or this would be a firm favourite.Thank you.
Visited The Bowling Green on a recommendation from my CEO, and I cannot fault it at all. We dropped in on the off chance and we pleasantly surprised they had space for us.Staff we attentive, and the food was amazing is definitely in the must visit again list.

Very pleasant and welcoming environment with helpful staff.The menu is limited but very nice all the food was cooked and presented to a high standard, the portions are generous and would satisfy hearty appetites unfortunately there were no smaller dishes obviously available for a light lunch or smaller appetite.On offer was a choice of cask ales kept in very good condition.It is a shame that the only entrance has steps making wheelchair access all but impossible.
