The food and setting are amazing but a £15 per person cancellation charge is totally unreasonable. Can’t imagine how much business they are losing with this ridiculous, punitive policy. Insane.

Really disappointing customer service. Tried to book winter retreat four times on the phone with them, kept getting told to ring them back at a later date (no option for them to take my number and ring ME back). Finally managed to book in, theyve taken all my credit card details, and now been told that they dont do that offer on a Friday. Apparently its in their T&Cs, but so far i've only found information pertaining to a Sunday. What a shame, was really excited to go there and now left with a bitter aftertaste.

Stayed for 1 night. Room was spacious and very nicely furnished to a high standard. Dinner and breakfast were very good. The pub, somewhat contradicting it's name, has particularly good seafood, but there are steaks on the menu.

We just had Sunday lunch at The Cow and loved it. The service and food was outstanding. The Sunday menu is much smaller that other days, and this took a few of our group by surprise, however I think it turned out to be a good thing. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, the veg was clearly fresh and the dish presentation was also superb. Also, the portion sizes were great - not to small or to large. The service was friendly, very professional and I would say confident. Thanks for a great lunch! ?

Beautifully decorated boutique pub in :) And the food was stunning! Our room 7 was right above the pub and the music was quite loud, but it’s a minor issue.Super dog friendly as well.

Very disappointed with my stay this weekend. The 'special offer' of £385 was booked a while back - the current price for the same is £320. Out of goodwill, it would have been nice when this was pointed out to perhaps have met us halfway with some drinks - we did get an average bottle of wine compensation. First room was alright but all the water stopped midst shower! Changed room and the same happened and then it was resolved - a very unpleasant experience and again, a complimentary drink in the bar would have gone a long way. This place is expensive for a pub and the room at best would be 3* - room 6 is fine (our friends were in that one). Don't plan a long stay - nowhere to put clothes and the hanging space had just two hangers - had to ask for more - this should have been checked beforehand.Food was excellent and the bar staff were lovely - sadly let down by the attitude of the general manager who needs some upskilling on 'going the extra mile with customer service'. With customer service you only get one opportunity to get things right! - after that it's remedial. A little gesture would have gone a long way.The nice touches are Molton Brown toiletries, but to be honest would have preferred a better attitude from management.Overall I cannot say I had an enjoyable stay :-(The weekend was great because we were with amazing friends - we could have stayed anywhere and still had a good time.

Came here for a birthday dinner with my partner after not visiting for a few years. We were pleasantly surprised with how it has changed - the food was superb with a wide selection, also came beautifully presented. Service was perfect and very friendly - just two FOH staff working really hard but still smiling! Really enjoyed the festive touches to the menu as well and the decor of the restaurant is cosy and welcoming. A wonderful experience!

A Lovely experience staying here. Traditional setting in a quiet village in the countryside. the ground floor room was very impressive. A big modern bathroom with large bath and 55" tv. fancy teas and coffees. Double doors leading to a private patio and shared courtyard was very nice. Restaurant and pub side was amazing. Fresh seafood based menu with daily specials and a great selection of draught beers and nice wines. The service was second to none and the food was excellent. It was all cooked fresh by a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff creating many home cooked tasty and vibrant dishes. Not to mention the awesome desserts .The breakfast was just as good as the evening meal too. I was very impressed by the cow experience and highy reccommend staying here to others.
