Tried porridge and gluten free toast. My wife had the veggie breakfast. Both really happy and will be back ?
We booked an afternoon tea here and really enjoyed it. The staff were very attentive, thoughtful and friendly. We were asked about dietary requirements on booking in advance on the phone and the staff were already up to speed having read the booking notes on our arrival, immediately running though the menu highlighting what was suitable for a member of our party (ordering off the main menu) who had a nut allergy. Dog's are not allowed inside but are welcome outside. The afternoon tea was delicious with a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. We ended up taking a few of the cakes home!
Gorgeous place with delicious food and great service. We had the English Breakfast and the quality of the food was amazing. Highly recommend.
Fantastic food at reasonable prices. We had one child with a peanut allergy and other children with fussy appetites and everyone was catered for superbly.
Dietary restrictions: We had a peanut allergy which was dealt with easily
Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu.
Disappointed. Short staffed. We waited 20 minutes to be seated - staff ignored us for that whole duration waiting by the “wait to be seated sign”, waited another 20 minutes for a glass of orange juice, then a further 18 minutes for my oats and fruit bowl. Almost an hour to get a seat and an orange juice in total without food included. Large amount of tables were covered in dirty plates. The menus are a mess and need replacing and the signage for the toilets is nonexistent. I’d of given it 1 star but the food bumped it up to 2.
Great place to stop off for a bite. The Lebanese flatbread with Halloumi was amazing and certainly worth trying! Tasted delicious and the sauces drizzled on top accompanied the dish perfectly.
It does get busy but the food does come out reasonably efficiently.
Busy place so get there early, lots of great options, food was great - beautiful cafe decor
Selection of food is good but i was served mouldy toast. When I complained, I was informed by staff that the chef had said 'the bread is in date and shouldn't be mouldy.' It was. Really poor.
I am updating this review after comment made by owner: we were certainly NOT offered a full refund nor complimentary drinks after we reported the mould on the bread. I do, however, appreciate your apology as this seems to be an isolated issue and are happy you are making measures to prevent this from happening again.
Lovely place, great cakes and excellent coffee! A much needed break on our ride through.
I had one of the best meals I've ever had, it was the chicken Buddha bowl ( amazing)
Can't wait to go back again.
Highly recommend ?

Cosy café with a warm atmosphere, very friendly staff and fabulous afternoon tea.
Lovely little cafe. Popped in, served quickly, friendly staff. Had some quality coffee, lunch and cake. Would definitely return.
Vegetarian options: Lebanese flatbread with chickpeas or halloumi
I can't praise The Little Shed enough for how great my experience there was today. I went in with my 7 year old daughter and my one year old son and as anybody with young children know, it can be quite stressful to eat out. Not in this case. The staff went above and beyond. Making sure I had a space for my pushchair, keeping my children entertained, providing colouring, blocks and toys for them to play with whilst they waited. They were so attentive to their needs, making my visit so enjoyable and stress free. The food was amazing also! So tasty. I can't recommend enough!
We have just eaten lunch at this delightful little place. Very busy but able to squeeze us in. The lovely waitress explained that there was a wait for food, which was fine fir us. Fabulous menu, with lots of choices of goid and drinks. The first place that I've had the choice of four different types of Chai Latte ? Our food was delicious, I chose the Lebanese flatbread with hallumi, absolutely lovely. My hubby had a wiltshire ham, mushroom, onion and cheese toasty. He said it was great. We didn't have cakes or desserts, but they did look delicious and fresh. Loved that there was a water station where you can help yourself to fresh, cool, drinking water.
The decor is beautiful, seating good, clean, and spacious restrooms too.
We would definitely recommend and return when in Ashbourne again.
