Popped in for a drink when exploring Ashbourne. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Situated in the centre of town. Outside seating too.

Stopped here for a quick drink - seating outside in the courtyard. Market square has a parking small area. Pints are a good price - under £4. Fairly small - toilets were clean, staff chatty & helpful.

Nice little pub. Friendly staff. A lot of trouble and fights break out. Not a safe place to say late into the evening.

OK for drinks but no atmosphere unless it was on bad nite coz coppers raided pub next door ?

They serve cobs but do not have food hygiene certificate, place isn't very clean but it has changed management a few times, present people there now has had it b4 but he has a manager that stands in when not there and he bars a lot of people but druggies don't get barred, this pub is going downhill

Nice host and partner. Good pint of Pedigree at a good price. Footie match shown on two screens also accommodating racing on another screen. Only one blip was the advent of three young-ish men who didn't come to watch the sport and became a complete pain with stupid, loud behaviour especially one with the tattooed head. Fortunately they left after one drink to the relief of everyone else.

Came here last weekend from a walk in Carsington water. The lady serving us was very nice and friendly. It’s a great traditional pub with great service. The prices were good and their toilets were clean. I would definitely recommend!

Friendly staff, made to feel so welcome, landlady was lovely and chatty, definitely didn't feel like outsiders even though we were! Good priced drinks and quick service. Toilets were very clean (we sat outside but when walking in to use toilets everything looked really nice). Outside area really clean and nice. We had a great night!

Cliff Lakes in Tamworth is better and serves beer. It's ok. The aqua Park is small. The open water swimming is set in a really beautiful part of the lake, although the 2nd lake is really the only part that is scenic. The biggest problem with this place is attitude, communication and organisation.New arrivals are confused, spread out all over the place and end up creating a chaotic atmosphere that leads to some tension. The biggest problem is that the manager has a real attitude problem and so his staff have followed in his footsteps. If you ask a question, you're almost made to feel like your taking up there precious time. They're either logged out of the computers, don't have the correct code, can't find you on the system or your speaking to the wrong person.Communication is terrible, and after swimming 100 yds to lake 2, I was told not enter. No reason given, no apologies and no way of knowing when it would be open again. If this place was better organised it would certainly be a happier experience. I've visited aqua parks and open water swimming places all over the UK and this place has some work to do.

Under new management and very glad to see proper Covid measures in place. Now a nice clean family friendly pub.
