“The food could easily have been Michelin star, I had lamb and my partner chose the grouse special. Both equally delicious, make sure you leave space for dessert as they are moreish.”
“Great pub with a nice atmosphere, really good honest food. Best roast I have had in a long time; thick cuts of meat, the Yorkshire Pud was fluffy and gravy was tasty. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Would definitely return.”
“Really excellent place for a short stay. Views were superb. Evening meal very good and good value. Staff friendly, Breakfast great. Room clean. Would definitely stay again. Lovely walk to Lathkil Dale without needing to move the car. 5*”
“Called in here for lunch on our way to Manchester Airport. A great find. Could have had two courses for £20 but, as we have to take our clothes off (to sunbathe and swim) when we are in Croatia, could not be tempted with a pud. Instead chose the rump steak sandwich, tiger bread, skinny fries and an Asian salad. Steak cooked to perfection, everything absolutely delicious. £12?.Lovely lady called Tara served us. Decor great. If we are passing again, will definitely call in and have another steak sandwich?”
“This pub is situated in the heart of bakewell. Very good range of lagers/cask ales & bottle beers to drink. This pub consists of a very friendly environment. A family run pub with a range of lunch time meals on specific days. Car park directly outside. It all has a reasonable sized beer garden to accommodate visitors. I would I highly recommend this venue if you want a various choice of what to drink. In the cold weather the log fire makes it warm environment. Dogs are allowed but only on the wooden floor. Which is definitely more then reasonable.”
“After a beautiful walk along the River Wye, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at The Bulls Head. Delicious food, very generous portions and friendly staff and locals, we were made to feel very welcome thank you, great way to celebrate my birthday. Thank you Peter for giving us a tour of the local area.”
