It was very busy so we didn't get to spend much time looking around, would probably try to go back on a weekday to be able to really experience it but the staff were friendly and the treat's were delicious.

Absolutely delicious food and drinks, great service and a wonderfully traditional setting with a lively atmosphere.

I just bought a tart and a pudding. Pudding was ok. Tart was diabolical.. A horribly, dry cheesy taste. Virtually no jam. Full of palm oil. 6 quid! A total rip off. Really nasty flavour. No flavoir of almonds.

All kinds of desserts are available!

A classic place in the city. It's worth visiting.

We were super late because of our hike and because it wasn't busy they were very accommodating. The food was reasonably priced, quickly served and tasted delicious. The queue at the shop was long but that’s because the cakes are delicious and so worth the wait. Will be back soon.

The Bakewell tart from this place is heavenly - goes without saying it is the best Bakewell tart I have ever had! I especially enjoyed the very generous filling which is much more plentiful than store bought Bakewell tarts.

We've not been to dine here for years. I don't know why, because today's experience was exceptional. The quality of food is second to none! I do not state this lightly !!We have eaten in some outstanding places , but not to this standard! Many thanks . What a wonderful experience. We had the Fish finger sandwich on tiger bread, and BBQ Pulled pork & smoked apple wood cheddar panini.
We had a lovely pot of tea and pudding upstairs. The staff were friendly and polite. The food and drink was perfect and the tea room gave a cosy feel. Definitely worth a visit.

Popped in to stock up on some Bakewell Puddings. Service okay but these puddings over the years have shrunk and become quite expensive. Will have to make the purchase last a bit. Fortunately they do freeze okay.

The sandwich up stairs are good as is all the food. But the cakes are out of this world, made locally I believe, but the size of the slice is enormous. 15" cake cut to 8

Seems to be the place to go for your Bakewell pudding indulgence. The original home of the Bakewell as made by Mrs Wilson.Nice selection of food on the menu in the upstairs restaurant, albeit a little pricey.Downstairs you can join the queue of tourists clutching a tart or pudding waiting to pay. I cannot imagine the number of those sweet indulgent cakes they get through every day.
