Very tasty food indeed, service very good, surroundings very modern, minimalist so sound bounces around a lot making it quite frenetic. Good fun enjoyed it.

I was quite underwhelmed on the whole to be honest. We went for Sunday lunch and thought the food was average at best, lots of reviews mention tasty food but we found it to be quite bland - I've definitely had better. Lots of the veg was plain boiled, no seasoning. The green puree at the bottom was unnecessary, it added nothing to it. Not sure if the carrot was meant to be roasted but it was a bit sad and soggy, as were the roast potatoes. Yorkshire pudding was nice but quite small. It was all slightly lukewarm to say it came so quickly. Menu also misses off the sides for Roasts like Cauliflower Cheese. I had plenty of meat but my husband had a lot less, more gravy would also have been welcome. Drink service was slow, one gentleman was running round trying to do everything while the 2 girls behind the bar did what looked like the minimum they could get away with. Overall, quite expensive for what it is, lots of room for improvement and was quite disappointed in terms of what I've read online!

The Prince of Wales is situated in Baslow not too far from Chatsworth House. It has it's own car park with space for about a dozen cars. The premises were well presented, clean and welcoming. As well as a bar area there were three dining areas on 3 different levels. Two real ales were available, Sharp's Doombar and Abbeydale Moonshine as well as three premium expensive lagers: Staropramen, San Miguel and Madri. The food menu was focused on high end cuisine but 3 sandwiches were available. The service was good and the staff were very pleasant and efficient. The food was cooked and prepared in an open kitchen and was very well presented and of good quality. The price of food and drink was high when compared to other pubs in the area meaning the value for money was poor. If you are prepared to pay top dollar for drinks and food meticulous prepared and carefully presented the Prince of Wales may be worth a visit.

We were seated in the dog friendly area. Every time someone went out or came in a driving wind blew through the bar area. It was really cold and the atmosphere totally spoilt out , and our guests luncheon. We have been coming here for years when it was called Rowleys. We will not be returning to The Prince of Wales!Parking: Small car park was full.. had to find street parking half a mile away

We are from Australia and we were really keen on tasting local English food .The food was fresh, balanced ,well portioned and staff are attentive and welcoming:-)We all left with clean plates ! It was the best meal we have had so far on our trip here in England . I would definitely come back again if I ever make a trip to the UK in the future !

We'd not been to this pub/restaurant before and dropped in by chance. Entering we found the interior to be very welcoming and had a friendly greeting from the staff. There was ample choice on the menu and drinks were delivered to our table. To sum up I couldn't fault the experience and the food was plentiful, nicely cooked and presented. We will certainly go again when in that area.

The pub was nice, clean and welcoming. Nicely decorated. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The fish and chips, pictured, were nice, but the batter could have been crispier. The chips were lovely.A note to management, an open kitchen is a brave choice and adds some nice theatre to a restaurant, however it doesn’t look great when all the chefs are leaning against the counter on their phones.Parking: Parking spaces were good and plenty, if the turning just before the pub on the corner. We went past it as it’s a bit of a sharp turn.

If you ever wondered what a perfectly cooked steak should taste and look like then this is the place for you to find out. Grilled to perfection with faultless service and a refined and convivial atmosphere. We will be back to try other dishes when next travelling through Baslow.

Lovely anniversary meal. Better than normal pub grub, this is a far more refined dining experience. The monkfish in a tikka masala sauce with pickled chillies was memorable as was the lamb shank. Friendly, obliging and chatty staff.

Called in 'on spec' on a very busy Boxing day lunchtime. Luckily I managed to get a table very quickly as a couple were just about to leave. I was a solo visitor but I had two dogs with me. Dogs are welcome in the bar area. Because of my situation, one of the staff came and took my order usually customers go to the bar. I enjoyed a Turkey Bacon and Brie sandwich with big chunky chips all delicious and I was so full I had to leave some. Washed this down with a half of Aspell cider. Forgot to photograph the food, but took a few shots of this cosy country pub which has been updated and styled very tastefully. All the staff were smiling, friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and I will call again.Parking: A small tight car park but on street parking is difficult because of the high traffic volume on the main street at the front of the pub. Plus a couple of bad bends.

Highly recommend. Delicious food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. We order fish & chips and slow cook roast beef. Fish and chips is fantastic, beef is bit tough. Will back absolutely.

Fantastic pub, really welcoming, they accommodated us after I’d made a mistake with my booking and bent over backwards to get us a table. The food and staff were fantastic. Have been here several times now and will be back again. My favourite pub in the

The food is lovely, the main courses are good value for money. The desserts are way overpriced though. £9.50 for a small piece of ginger cake and small scoop of ice cream. I wouldn’t get a dessert again but would go for a main.
