Ordered the side of chunky chips and the Camembert sandwich, the chips were big and fluffy with a light crisps and plenty in a portion. The sandwich wasn’t shy on filling with lovely soft toasted

It was quite late for lunch, but we were made to feel most welcome, nothing to much trouble, the all day breakfast was excellent and piping hot, very friendly place, spacious not sitting on top of other people and the biggest bonus for us they accept dogs.

Had Sunday lunch in this pub yesterday. I had the beef and hubby the lamb. Good quality dinner at a reasonable price.Despite being very busy the hardworking staff were very attentive and polite. Nothing was too much trouble.Really friendly atmosphere.

Very expensive steak ciabatta missing crispy onions. Painting was being done while we was eating.just down the road a place called the Rutland arms , so much better and better value.

Ate here 2 nights in March (2024) and food & service was fantastic. Had a mix of seafood, homemade pie & steak across the 2 meals and quality faultless. Special thanks to Emma & Sean for great service & recommendations.

This is a lovely big building with plenty of character, ideal for large parties.Staff are lovely and friendly. There is a huge car park so plenty of parking. The pub / restaurant also has an outdoor seating area.I would definitely recommend that you visit, even if it is for cake and a coffee.Parking: Parking at the front and to the sides, just off the main road.

I don't really do reviews, but was so impressed today, I thought I should share our experience. We called in the off-chance at lunch and was shown to a lovely table with plenty of room for us, a couple with our dog. We ordered and the meals came quickly & were very well presented at a reasonable price for the area. Staff kept checking on us to ensure the meal met our expectations and to fuss our little dog. The atmosphere certainly was very friendly and everyone seemed cheerful. We felt the service & food quality outdone some of the more expensive/up market places we have visited. We will definitely return when we revisit Bakewell. Well done! ??

It's a shame we was tourists in the town the way who ever the lady was spoke to a young worker in front of customers was disgusting customer service goes a long way but when it's one of your own colleagues it's worse but she never cared who heard her the poor

One of the worst pints of Guinness iv ever had, looked great but tasted so bitter and metallic, no smoothness or flavour you would expect from any pint off the black stuff, got it replaced and the 2nd pint was barely drinkable , food was ok they were busy so a wait was to be expected but then left disappointed by the portion off fish I got in my fish finger sandwich one thin strip, it was laughable, such a shame as the staff and environment was enjoyable. Would not return unfortunately.

We arrived there today for lunch on Mothers Day. We hadn't booked but luckily they managed to fit us in. Was shown through to our table, menus left.O ordered the Roast dinner of Lamb, little legs (4) had the child's chicken dinner. I'd already decided that I would have a dessert so passed on the starter. The meals arrived and it was impossible not to be impressed. The best Sunday lunch I've had in a long time. The lamb was lovely and tender and the Yorkies huge. The child's dinner was nearly the same size and it was FREE! After that there was no room for desserts! The staff were very good, professional and attentive. Great Service!.And to cap it off an excellent pint of Bombardier.

First time visiting and was sorted with a table by lovely staff can’t fault them really but then we ordered some food and ended up waiting quite a long time for food which it’s not a problem except two tables who had arrived a while after us had there food way before us!! I didn’t say anything as I wanted to give it time as I don’t like to complain but when it finally did arrive it was lukewarm and not very tasty we shared one of the sharing dishes and the chicken satay skewers were just chicken with a little bit of dried up sauce on them and stuffed mushrooms were underwhelming also had some hard nachos that seemed like they had been sat there for a while as they were rock hard but other than that the onion rings and halloumi fries were lovely but again just not great food for the price wouldn’t eat there again
