Excellent experience today warm welcome and friendly efficient service. The drinks were lovely and hot and the sausage sandwich far superior to the norm. Will be back.

Lovely little place for a coffee to warm up after a walk in the peaks. Thank you for being so welcoming ?

Lovely cooked breakfast and they even offered to swap out egg for another sausage. Warm, delicious and out of the cold!

Rang up to see if there was any tables available was told he’d have a look “yes couple available” on arriving we were the only people lol ? coffee lovely young lad serving very nice lady very abrupt toasted teak cake £4.50 hard and under toasted sausage sandwich and egg inedible was hard cold and obviously yesterdays sausage, when complained lady was not apologetic, chef arrived apologised and admitted was previously cooked good as had a flood and no oven.this place did used to be busy and bustling and a proper walkers cafe not any more it’s a shame.

We were served by a friendly lady who took our orders, the coffee and food came quickly. One of the coffee cups had lipstick on it, it happens and lipstick doesn’t always come off ??‍♀️ We let the lady know and she apologised and made a new one in a clean cup. When our breakfast arrived one of them had beans which we specifically said we didn’t want as I absolutely hate them. I was embarrassed and felt bad as we’d already swapped the coffee and explained this to the lady. She said they would re make the order, she went through to the kitchen where we could hear the chef shouting and swearing about having to remake the breakfast. We were left feeling very uncomfortable and I considered telling them just to cancel the breakfast and leave. We stayed and the breakfast came without the beans, the food was okay nothing to shout home about. It was just a very uncomfortable experience, which is a shame as going out for breakfast was supposed to be a treat after a rough few weeks.

Me and my wife like to try different restaurants and cafeterias when out walking and today we stumbled upon this little gem. First of all the service from the European girl who served us our hot drinks was fantastic, she was A1 friendly. The food came within 15 minutes and was very well presented and exactly as we ordered as we did not want all the items listed. The vegetarian breakfast was beautifully presented and was probably the best we have had in the Peak District for a while. Highly recommended. 5 stars. Would recommend it to our walker friends and will be calling again in the future.

Absolutely awful . Grubby unclean ordered a bacon sandwich and toasted tea ale 2 coffees 40 mins still not arrived, went to the counter was 1st told bacon not defrosted then order arrived immediately after, but it was incorrect young girl said order had gone missing, no apology, service unwelcoming, lazy attitude staff couldn’t care less should not have paid for rubbish that was serviced 4.25 for hardly toasted tea cake just awful would Never go back

Very friendly staff, although only one person serving so it took a while to get served as teas/ coffees were made before serving next customer. The “full” English was very nice but for £9:95 you get 1egg,1bacon, black pudding, beans etc but half a sausage sliced lengthwise seems a bit stingy to say the least.

We went for breakfast. The tables needed wiping. The cups were stained . We felt it was expensive and service was slow. That said the staff were friendly and the toast nice.

Arrived around 2.30 on Sunday afternoon, only another table of diners. Noticed menu was much smaller than our last visit and cake, bun selection was much depleted. I ordered a BLT , my partner the last quiche . After a wait the food arrived. The quiche was burned ,top and bottom, the male cook apologized. My small BLT was ok but both our small salads had seen better days. At the end of our meal the pleasant front of house lady came with a full refund !!!!!! I asked if the cafe was under new management, she said No and said that Saturday had been busy . We have visited this cafe numerous times over the years, it's very inconsistent and having initially spent 22 pounds it was very disappointing. From recent reports were not the only customers to be let down. Definitely don't call at the end of the day.

Visited many times before and always enjoyed the experience, called in yesterday for tea & cake ordered 2 teas, a frangipane and Bakewell tart Frangipane was ok the Bakewell tart was pastry bottom jam and a hard biscuit like top, We received one small pot of tea between us which equalled one cup each The bill came to £15, cakes were £4.50 each which means we paid £6 for one small pot of tea!!!
