I loved the cafe, food was good other than we ordered two lots of food and only one arrived. They quickly sorted this out. I really enjoyed the visit and it was very pleasant inside.

A lovely community cafe, with welcoming staff. Our lunch was really good value for money. Homemade soups and cakes.

Food and drink were a fair price and nice. Didn't enjoy the atmosphere as we felt pushed out of our seat by regulars who meet there. Went into the back children's room, which is a great idea, but could be cleaner. I gave a dummy to my baby to prevent him from eating the scattered bits of food on the floor and under sofa. When serving us the lady was very friendly to little one but pulled the dummy out of his mouth, handed it to me and said "isn't that better". When she left I put in back in (as he was still trying to eat food from the floor). When she came back she saw the dummy, pulled a face and said "What's that nasty thing doing back?" It was very uncomfortable, and the unnecessary judgement made it so I won't be returning. Still 3 /5 because the these things were out of the owners control, but can't ignore the negative experience.

Went for breakfast on a rainy day, so unfortunately didn’t sit in the garden. It really is like a secret garden so I recommend you do if you visit in more clement weather :) The owner and staff are really friendly and the menu caters for vegans. I had a lovely vegan breakfast and my partner had the meat version. We both enjoyed our meals and the coffee was lovely. You’ll find there is plenty to look at with a range of arts and crafts adorning the space. If you’re looking for a kid friendly place, it has a huge play room full of toys. If you have a dog, it’s dog friendly too! They really have thought of everything. Perfect to stop off at on your way to the river gardens ?

Fantastic place, bigger inside than looks. Main features are Dot opened the café for people who suffer with mental illness. Offers various clubs you can try, time to talk. Very relaxing place with a great atmosphere, warm and welcoming. Dot is sublime and it's also got a great little garden. Parking is available in a council run car park 2 doors away. Very reasonable prices and such a great place. Definitely recommend. Kid friendly. WiFi, books, clubs. 5xxx around, excellent serviceDietary restrictions: Dot accommodates for all, just mention your requirements

Visited Dot teas cafe today whilst shopping in Belper, needing a cuppa as it was a cold morning. Arrived to a lovely warm welcome from the staff, what a little gem of a place.Ordered tea and coffee and shared a sausage sandwich. Order came out super quick, both great tasting coffee and proper leaf tea, and great sausages and door step bread mmmmm lovely. Just what we needed.Would definitely pop in again when in the area, highly recommended.

Very well looked after today. Coffee and hot chocolates excellent. Toasties, baked potato and mushrooms on toast all spot on. And to cap a great morning, I bought a fab knitted tea cosy - which is now christened. Will defo be back - probably next Tues or Wed. Thanks to all. Jim

Such a lovely little cafe with amazing community ties, hosting craft days and doing so much for those with social difficulties. I ordered a green tea and always expect a bag, but was treated to loose tea and a teapot and strainer, and it was delicious. Comfy chairs and conscientious staff.
