Went here full of hope to try something a bit different long story short me and my friend ended up with upset stomach both ends ? spoke to manager no apologies blamed everyone else suppliers etc but couldn’t have been as we had completely different things so obviously an hygiene problem got no offer of a part refund nothing you have been warned small portions also for the amount they charge.

Ordered eggs benedict with bacon. If you could call it bacon. Not sure what it was but it tasted nasty. The hollandaise sauce was watery and tastless. Overcooked eggs. Made me feel quite sick. Also ordered a tea but the mug was dirty so had to ask for another which wasn't in a much better state. Left feeling disappointed and hungry so will not be returning.

Waited 40 mins for drinks & food, had to go up & ask how long it would be to be told it’s being made now?! Definitely forgot or didn’t realise our order was there as not even drinks been made and other people who walked in 10-20 mins after us getting their orders before us.Food arrived after 40 mins and it was barely warm. Cold eggs. Very disappointing, used to come here every week but haven’t been for a while as last experience was disappointing also.. we thought we’d try again but severely disappointed and won’t be returning! No apologies for the wait or anything.

Love this place! Been visiting since moving to Belper with my family. Suitable for all ages young, old and inbetween! Easily accessible with a buggy, parking right outside. Great coffee and spot on breakfast.

Extremely dog friendly.Ordered an extra sausage for the dog with our food and all came together.Ordered at the counter and using the QR code without a hitch.

The food was not the best mushroom ? not fresh eggs ? undercooked coffee ☕️ almost cold the place needs a good clean felt grubby staff felt dull outside needs an uplift I feel to keep customers return needs big improvement.

We thought we had found the one.. dog friendly, nice breakfast.. on our recent visit half our food was cold, left on the pass for ages., had to ask them to re cook. Then young waitress plonked it half on and off the table..dirty cup with cream floating on the cup and saucer..quite a few staff but it’s a free for all, no one seems to know their role. use to go 3 times a week, have found somewhere else. Such a shame.

We waited over 45 minutes for drinks and food... while multiple tables came and went. Turns out they have completely forgotten about our order. Which is great when two children under 6 are with you, and we are all starving.Oh, 53 minutes later, it is here! With an apology and £10 voucher, which is nice but you know what would be even better... a partial refund. Especially as a we aren't local (although do have family here so I guess we will pass it along to them.). Food was okay. Maybe request butter on the pancakes, especially if you order them without syrup, as they are quite dry. Atmosphere was decent but would be great if there were actually books to read (particularly given our wait) rather than just as part of the decor. Staff was nice. Not great to have three different ways to order (kiosk, QR code at the table, which we did, or at the counter) as obviously this system didn't work well for us!

Best hot chocolate in town, nice ambience, chic decor, friendly staff, easy to order. The iced coffee wasn't a good choice though. Nice selection for breakfast

Always love visiting and bringing friends and family too. Service is always exceptional and friendly and with a smileParking: Worth remembering that if you are there for 60- 90 minutes to provide your registration plate number to validate your stay. The whole of the parking on Book cafe and mill shop next door uses a camera system which will give you a parking fine if you're there for any longer, the cafe are not directly responsible for reimbursement and you can't appeal to them either.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a small ramp accessible from the carpark leading up to the front door. Also has a disabled toilet inside.

An hours wait for breakfast today .. no free drinks offered or apology for the wait. Clearly busy but not busier than usual and definitely should’ve been advised of the hours wait for an avocado and egg

we had afternoon tea on Saturday, the service was excellent the food was delicious and plentiful, we had so much we at to take a doggy bag home with us, it was exceptional, very attentive service. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back in the near future.

Used to frequent the Derby one quite a lot previously, and have now been to the Belper one a few times too. Always find the menu to have good variety and interesting dishes, and the food & coffee has always been very nice every time I've been. Been enjoying the veggie breakfasts recently. It's convenient that you can order via phone with the QR code or via the touch screen, and the service is always very friendly. There's always a nice atmosphere too. Keep up the good work :)
