Didn't have food and didn't stay longer than 10 minutes. Tried to get a drink on a Saturday night and the staff were too busy talking to each other than serve customers. There was three customers stood at the bar with one being served and three staff. They looked pained to even be working. This is not the first, second or third time I have witnessed this over a number of months. Wont bother again.

Lovely dog friendly pub near the Opera House in Buxton. Nice place and very big inside.

Had lamb shank Sunday lunch 17/03/24, absolutely scrumptious! Massive Yorkshire pudding, thick dark gravy, roast spuds, cauliflower cheese, carrots, sprouts, peas, the lamb fell off the bone. Choice of pigs in blankets too. Very reasonable price & bottle of wine for only £15.95. Made very welcome and fitted us in despite being very busy with Opera House and Pavilion events. ?

Despite being very busy, Sarah (manager) made us welcome, as always. The lamb shank Sunday roast, with all the trimmings was superb. Price per person includes a very reasonably priced bottle of wine. Highly recommended.

Nice pub but awful food, ridiculously expensive soft drinks such as 1 x J2O + lemonade and 1 coke zero= £9.20 !!???

We booked our wedding reception venue at the Old Clubhouse - and it was perfect. From setting up to the actual evening, from the delicious buffet to the relaxed pub drinks, from Sarah the GM to all the wonderful staff, we had the best time & cannot thank you all enough! Highly recommend to anyone! We will be back :)

The Old Clubhouse is a lovely period building typical of centre of Buxton right next to the Opera House & close to the street entrance to the pavillion.I decided to have my lunch here during a busy Saturday when most places were very busy.Ordered a drink at the bar & adjacent to main bar area there is a separate dining area away from TV's etc.I ordered soup of the day which was French Onion & the Cod Chips & mushy peas. The soup was delicious just how I like it with some nice chunks of lightly toasted artisan bread. After this expected a lot from the mains but it was just ok with nothing particularly wrong except a tiny portion of peas that was smaller than the pot of tartare sauce, otherwise generally ok for pub standard. Staff are really nice & friendly & asked if all's ok without being overbearing. Nice traditional feel to this place which I'm sure will be very busy for pre-show drinks. Would return but probably try something else from menu.

Decent Greene King pub opposite the Opera House.

The last orders bell rang 9pm but continued to service cutomers, which was a little confusing. However, if you like sport and a decent pint of Moretti, this is a good place to go.

Fantastic service from Katz and Zack. The food was delicious. This is a lively pub very busy as a place for a pre-show meal.

It’s okay for one on the go, and the seats out the front are nice to sit on — as you have a good view of the opera house, and other things in the area
