The Old Sun Inn

Had Sunday lunch here. The food was good. However, the beef was tough. The place itself is very historic and the service was good. Would recommend booking as they are very busy.

The Chakra Lounge

This charming cafe had very nice food, and lovely staff. It was dog friendly, which was lovely.I would recommend everything on the menu except from the milkshakes, which are not milkshakes, but milk with revolting syrup. Other than the milkshake faux pas.

Sacro Lounge

Very welcoming place with a good menu (gluten free choices and enough veggie things to make me happy). We had a range of stuff (burgers, fried chicken, shakshuka). I ordered salad with my burger and the dressing had too much lemon/vinegar to be enjoyable, hence only 4 stars for food. But everything else was great.

The Parks inn

Very cute dog friendly pub with great food and lovely owners. Would recommend to everyone to pop in if they’re in the area. A large pub with lots of tables and a fire.. what more could you ask? Thank you!

Carriages, Newhaven

Over a course of 15 days and numerous villages and amazing places we still went to Carriages 3 times. It became our comfort food place and was well worth every penny spent. If you are anywhere around there you must give it a try!Kid-friendliness: My daughter was 10 when we were there last and this was her favorite restaurant. She loved the food but really loved the desserts.

Kings Head

Place very clean, but some of the tables and chairs looking a bit past their best, food lovely, staff very helpful and polite,so I would recommend it and return,many thanks ?

Taj Mahal

I popped in here for a meal on my solo visit to Buxton. The food was very nice. They didn't have any cauliflower but the chickpea and Spinach curry they made me was lovely. The service was attentive and prompt. Despite the very bright lighting, I was very happy.Vegetarian options: The vegetable dish was lovely. The curry was well balanced with nice ingredients. It went well with the naan.

The Bull I' Th' Thorn Pub & Pizzeria | Peak District

Random drop in on a Thursday @ 1pm for ‘some food’ before driving back to gods country (NW England ?)Sweet Jesus what a lucky find ‘the burger’ aka ‘heavenly slabs of cow accompanied by onions caramelised on the thighs of angels’ was unbelievably tasty. Probably one of the best I’ve had thus far in my 40+ years!Highly recommended, so I’d the chicken version my partner went for along with the Jalapeño poppers that set a little fire in your laughing-tackle.The service was excellent (shout out to the young lady that served us) and huge compliments to whomever dreamt up the menu and the chef for nailing it. ??Food & drinks: Excellent food and coffees

Ordered Vegetarian meal for 2.... Wonderful service and absolutely excellent food.Vegetarian options: Best Veggie Curry I've ever had in Bux. Ordered Vegetarian meal for 2.Delicious selection and at £18.50 I had to give the change as a tip.. This is my go to place for curry when I'm in town.

Ithaca Greek Taverna

Had dinner here this evening whilst enjoying a long weekend in the Peaks. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions generous and everything was tasty. We had sardines and feta and spinach parcels to start, followed by Kleftico and Sea Bass. For dessert we had baklava and orange cake and it was impossible to pick favourites. The service was friendly, attentive and efficient. The restaurant was packed but the service and standard remained excellent throughout. Would definitely return and recommend.

Simply Thai Restaurant

Finally! A Thai place in the UK that does a PROPER pad kra-pao. Spicy, dry, mince. Not big chunks swimming in sauce. Full of chillis. I nearly died. It was awesome. Would go back any time.

Buxton Tandoori

Visiting Buxton for the weekend and picked up one of the ´set meal’ takeaways on Friday evening. Absolutely outstanding ! So much food - we got two meals out of it. Everything was delicious and will definitely be back next time we’re there. Recommended - you will not be disappointed ! ?

Greggs

Good snacks, good prices, tables & chairs out front, if not then plenty of outdoor places to sit and munch a pasty. Nice staff. On the pedestrianised section of Buxton (Spring Gardens). Close to 'The Slopes', 'Pavilion Gardens', and Ashwood Park.

We came early evening on Sunday for a birthday meal and unfortunately, after a busy day, the food and drinks we chose were unavailable as they had sold out. Despite this, the staff were friendly and the service was good.

Golden fry

Enjoyed eating-in at Golden Fry in Buxton today, there was a choice of seating within! Food was excellent, and the staff are nice too! If I come back to Buxton, I will definitely be eating here again! Top notch! ?

Buxton Charcoal Grill

THE BEST CHICKEN KEBAB! omg, naan bread was tasty, chicken was soo good and garlick sauce also was really good.I get salad separate so they didn't get hot till I back to hotel. My kebab was full of meat !!! Really.STAFF WAS SO FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING. Highly recommend this place.Thank you for my delicious kebab, now I don't have power to go to the gym! - i am too full. ??????

Absolutely love it here. Traditional coaching inn, lovely cosy bar with wood burning stove. A pint of ale or coffee with a bowl of soup, ideal before or after a walk on the Pennine way or the nice easy walk on the old railway line

Had lamb shank Sunday lunch 17/03/24, absolutely scrumptious! Massive Yorkshire pudding, thick dark gravy, roast spuds, cauliflower cheese, carrots, sprouts, peas, the lamb fell off the bone. Choice of pigs in blankets too. Very reasonable price & bottle of wine for only £15.95. Made very welcome and fitted us in despite being very busy with Opera House and Pavilion events. ?

The Cafe At Green Pavilion

This was a spur of the moment choice and are we pleased we did! They were busy but the atmosphere was still friendly. Food arrived in a timely fashion and it was tasy and delicious. Highly recommend a visit. Unfortunately, we are only in Buxton for the weekend.Thank yiu for a lovelly breakfast.

Where to begin? Firstly, the gentleman who served us was very friendly and helpful. My husband ordered a fillet steak MW and immediately we were asked if it was ok for a 25 minure wait. We were. As I have a dairy and egg intolerance I can be limited to menu items. Our server gave me the allergy matrix and discussed my options. He also went into the kitchen and double checked the ingredients in my choice. Food arrived and it was tasty and well cooked. Husband was pleased with his steak. We were too full for a pudding. Unfortunately, we are only in Buxton for the weeknd, otherwise we would have returned for another visit.This restaurant is well worth visiting.Thank you for a lovelly evening.Dietary restrictions: I have a dairy and egg intolerance and our server was very helpful with menu options.

Love this place and the vibe . Such a lovely service and a smiling face by both the people in the restaurant . Loved their tofu carnation with quesadilla mind blowing . ❤️❤️ would love to come again and again and try many more dishes and their fresh desserts ❤️Definitely recommend every dish at this place and if you are vegan or veg , consider this place as heaven

The Ale Stop

A cracking little micropub in Buxton, Derbyshire.4 very well kept beers available on cask, as well as bottled beers and soft drinks.This is mainly used by locals who by the way were very friendly. Even the pub dog came over to say hello.It was a wet day when I visited and the fire roaring was a welcome sight that's for sure.Would definitely recommend paying this place a visit.

Cafe at Poole's Cavern

We opted for baked potato and salad. Service was fast. The potatoes were well-baked with tasty fillings. Highly recommended, especially when combined with the Pooles Cavern experience.

Flash Bar Stores

My friend and I stopped off here for a little break before heading back to Chesterfield and had an amazing fry-up and coffee. The staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere was excellent. Like a cosy and warm little oasis in the windy hills with beautiful views and a nice roaring fire, this is the perfect little gem to stop in when travelling through the peaks.

The Tradesman's Entrance Cafe Ltd

Love this place - it looks very unprepossessing on the outside, but you’re missing a trick if you don’t go in! Really excellent choice of food, and has lots of veggie/vegan options too. They’re very accommodating if you want to substitute menu items, and don’t make you feel like you’re being awkward, the portion sizes are great, the prices very fair, and the staff are lovely (and bonkers - in a good way!) We’ve been about 4 times over the last couple of months and have not had a duff plate of food. Would definitely recommend :-)

Bit pricey for some but for me its worth the money for the best quality local foods cooked well and a lovely scenic drive/ride on the way there and back . .and the staff are really nice too ?

This is one of the little local gems of Buxton. Very clean, fairly basic but beautiful and welcoming. I’m still to work my way through the full menu (& I will) but the dishes I have sampled so far have been wonderful. Now I don’t mind a wait especially in such calm surroundings and for good food, it can be busy which is no surprise because the food is cooked with care and absolutely delicious. It’s the place the locals flock to so you know it’s good.

Costa Coffee

Lyn and Mary what a lovely couple to be served by. We were really impressed by the sunny disposition of these two, nothing to much trouble. The place was clean and tidy.

Fairfield Plaice

Lovely staff :) Got to be the nicest chip shop in Buxton and by a long shot too. Also really well priced with nice deals on. Staff were very friendly, food sorted quickly and the chips were super crispy and tasty! Won't be going anywhere else for fish and chips any time soon! :)Parking: Plenty of parking nearby especially during the day. Loads of street parking

The food I had today was nice except the veg sausages aren't my cup of tea maybe for a full vegetarian, restaurant made so should be nice for 100%vegetarian soul ?The only thing I'm curious about is their hot water is £1 fair enough they have to use electric for that & it helps me to be mindful about it. I could order a tea but I had caffeine already and I don't do well when I'm overloaded with caffeine. But I won't spend £1 for hot water so I stick to their free cold tap water ?Breakfast today wasn't a plan it was just experiment for myself.Vegetarian options: The very sausage isn't my cup of tea but for full very heart it would probably be wonderful for them ?

Not just a chip shop, tho it is the best for miles around.The opening hours are very generous and ideal for a second breakfast on the way into work. Well worth any minor detour ???

The Wye Bridge House - JD Wetherspoon

I called in here for breakfast. The standard bacon and egg breakfast was good, freshly cooked, and served within minutes of me ordering it. Helpful staff too.I returned in the afternoon to enjoy a pint sitting at the front of the pub, in the sunshine. Great location and outside seating areas.
