Great ale, great food and great people. Locally sourced lamb from the farm shop we walked past on the way there, beautifully cooked and went down a treat.
So good we’ve changed our plans and heading there tomorrow before travelling home just so we can try something else from the menu.

I took a friend for coffee and to check out the menu for another day... really tempting. The drinks were good and reasonably priced, the service just right and what a lovely place. ? Market Place, BuxtonHave been going to the King's Head for quite a few years but go for a meal there at least once a month now. The food is always of a high quality, the staff are polite, helpful and professional. Even when it's really busy, you don't have to wait that long for your food to arrive and the quality never wavers. Great good and a great pub.

The food was absolutely beautiful especially the red thai curry, beautiful space and packed full of flavours!

Only lose a star on the review because the cafe upstairs is closing down at the end of October 2024.

1 The Quadrant, BuxtonCame to Buxton for a Xmas walk and catch up with family. 4 of us ate here on the Friday evening without booking. The service was excellent and attentive. Food was tasty and plentiful. Friendly atmosphere and a nice change from the usual fayre on offer. Glad we chose here and would come back again.

14 Dale Rd, BuxtonI really enjoyed the whole experience of this takeaway. The food was very tasty and came in large quantities as well. Going to pick up our order is rather special because the pickup point is in the actual kitchen and you can see the entire cooking process going on right there. Fascinating. I think the restaurant should consider creating a list of the vegetarian options as an additional section of the menu. There are veggie options but it would be good marketing to make them more easily visible. I would certainly use this restaurant again.

A big place, stuffed with original features, a great fireplace and beautiful old sash windows.
Staff were helpful and food inexpensive, tasty and well presented.
Three real ales on, on the day of our visit. Place was quiet but imagine it would get busy on nights that the theatre was open, as it's only 20 yards away.

Very attentive staff and lovely food. Venison was superb as was the beef stroganoff, cod with chorizo (& 1x turkey dinner as it was xmas) Meal for 4 with wine beer, 1x sweet & cocktails for £180 was excellent value and 4 very satisfied customers. We will be back. And has a great cocktail bar next door!??

I’m still to work my way through the full menu (& I will) but the dishes I have sampled so far have been wonderful. Now I don’t mind a wait especially in such calm surroundings and for good food, it can be busy which is no surprise because the food is cooked with care and absolutely delicious. It’s the place the locals flock to so you know it’s good.

The staff are lovely, the menu is great and the atmosphere is a proper pub atmosphere.
The beer selection is great, mixing local with further afield.
