Excellent pub friendly staff very clean and cosy
The prices here are very typical for pubs nowadays but the food is most certainly not. Not only is the menu impressively varied with some south east Asian items not usually found alongside the traditional pub grub. The servings were very generous and the food was very high quality.
On top of the excellent food for reasonable prices, The Pig & Pump is also right across the road from surely Chesterfields main (possibly only) attraction, the wonky church spire.
Well worth popping in if you're visiting. 5/5
Parking: Right next to 3 large lots.
Had a cheeseboard between us and it was great value at £12.
Great pub
Great pub, good choice of ales, almost a permanent festival.:)
No wonder almost every table had been reserved. The food was delicious. Mainly burgers and club sandwiches, great variety to choose from and served hot. Staff were fabulous, so friendly and helpful.
Best burger ever thesmoker is to die for I would haveit again in a heartbeat beautiful ?????
I live 100 miles from this place - but visit occasionally for lunch with my daughter who lives locally.. Always enjoy, food choice & quality excellent ... with friendly & efficient service. Directions = opposite the leaning spire of Chesterfield!
Lovely polite welcoming staff!! Good variations of drinks and the food is banging!!
Great selection of beers, big array of cask beer on hand pull and a decent keg selection too. We didn't eat here but the food smelled pretty good ?

First time at the Pig and Pump. Booked a table as read it gets very busy. It was quiet when we arrived. The staff are very friendly and polite. My daughter and son in law ordered the nacho sharing board. Plenty of food for a starter for 2. We then ordered our burgers on the sharing board. We chose the Elvis. Unfortunately my daughter and I found them abit dry due to the peanut sauce. We should of known as peanut butter is dry, so our fault. Chips were lovely just like you would cook at home. Plenty of food for 2 on the board. As it was my birthday I was the only one to order a dessert. Apple crumble with ice cream. I did expect a deep apple crumble with plenty of apple. As the portions are plentiful but I was disappointed at the size. Very small. I think I just had the crumble no apple. £7 was abit steep. So would give dessert a miss. I didn't like to complain as my birthday and manager was very nice. Would love to go again and try their pies.
Great selection of good beers.
So, I shared a burger platter with my son, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great service and lovely food.
Would definitely recommend.
I've had a fantastic time at the pub.
Great people, the atmosphere is so nice that you don't want to go home.
I highly recommend this place
Been here before and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. But this time, I was stunned, and not in a good way. We had meatballs as part of the starter, they were a soggy mess. Found out that the meat had been mixed with breadcrumbs. Far too much if the meatballs are soggy when you bite into them. Then we had burgers. Very strange consistency, again mixed with breadcrumbs, but the 'meat' was very pale in colour. Not convinced it was all beef. Presentation is lovely, and the venue is great, but I certainly wouldn't eat here again. I'd sooner eat at the weatherspoons next door than here again!
