Hooray. Found an authentic Sicilian restaurant in Chesterfield. Was expecting a great meal as the reviews very positive. Warm, genuine welcome on arrival. It's a small restaurant and was packed on a Thursday night. So recommend you book.

Menu is small with a wide variety of tempting dishes. My 2 favourites on the were Polpetonne della Nonna (grandmas beef meatloaf stuffed with egg.... Nom Nom Nonna) and Nutella Pie with pistachio ice cream (by special request).

Food was amazing. Great service. Warm and comfortable atmosphere.

Highly recommend. I'll defo be going back.

Update: Dined in again last week and the food was exceptional, this really is the best restaurant in chesterfield and if you haven't tried it you really need to. The staff are lovely and very attentive, the service is fast and you get complimentary pickles, bread and olives. We order takeaway from here regularly too. The portion sizes are big and we always have enough left over for the next day. The chicken crema with rice is my favourite and the bread is phenomenal with the spicy sauce to dip it in. I have the backlava sometimes and it is beautiful as is the chocolate brownie. The exceptional quality of the food and the consistency really set it apart from the rest, the food tastes EXACTLY the same every time which is something very rare I have found with other restaurants. Definitely my favourite restaurant in Chesterfield by a long way, worth every penny. It cost around £80 for a party of 3 with drinks.

Came here this morning. Service was great, really friendly. I had the full English and it was a great full English.... Quality bacon, quality sausages, hash browns, eggs, tomato's and coffee (with free refill).
I asked for no mushrooms, and when my breakfast came I was given an extra sausage as a substitute, I hadn't asked, they just gave it to me as they're nice. I would say this place is a hidden gem but when I was in at 9.30 it was nicely busy, if you're looking for a great full English I recommend.

Food was still stunning, we took our own drinks (as this is requested on their website)

Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. There was no rush for us to be out the door.

I will continue to use the takeaway and the restaurant as it’s incredible.

A really busy, lively, friendly pub. A warm welcome from the chatty and attentive bar staff. Food made to order, we opted for a burger sharing platter. The burgers were gorgeous, succulent and tasty. Chips, real onion rings, slaw, bbq sauce and mayo dips. Despite being hungry when we arrived we couldn't clear the board. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Chesterfield.

I have often passed this eatery & it's always busy. I just fancied a snack so I popped in for a portion of chips. The chips were so nice, just like how they should taste like in a chip shop. But I find chip shops locally don't seem to make nice chips at all. But as these were so nice, I will now become a regular customer & try other items on the menu. The other food items seem reasonably priced too & I found that there was a comfortable seating area to wait too.

Spacious, quiet and clean rooms. We were greeted at reception by Sam and at breakfast we met Kay and Shell.

On visiting the Crown and Anchor Iwith my husband and a friend we found the venue a lovely place to visit. Very welcoming lovely and clean, the bar staff were very friendly and the service and customer service was 5star. A great place to be in . On our last visit Saturday night karaoke ? was great fun. The venues DJ plays good music,and he seems very friendly, the only one complaint is the people the DJ had with him, two old men and a blonde woman the 3 of them smelt. (I presume they are the DJs parents and relatives.) The old men were very rude and ignorant when I asked for a song to be played.The blonde woman was very bolshy rude (taking over) and ignorant about my song choice, Maybe the DJ should come to work alone it would be better (and not bring them as they spoil it .)

We recently booked No4 for my dad’s 60th birthday party and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The food was absolutely fantastic, and every single member of staff was friendly and attentive.

The place itself is lovely, with a great atmosphere that made the celebration feel even more special. They were so accommodating with everything we needed, going above and beyond to make sure the night ran smoothly.

I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough for any special occasion!

If you’re under the impression that The Bulls Head in Holymoorside is “just a pub,” it’s time to recalibrate. This is a genuinely refined, fine dining experience that just happens to have a bar attached. The food is outstanding—thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and consistently impressive. Not a token “gastro pub” effort, but proper, high-level cooking that makes you question why you’d bother going elsewhere.

The drinks are exactly what you’d hope for—well selected, well served—and the staff are a masterclass in how hospitality should be done. Attentive, knowledgeable, and effortlessly professional without a hint of pretension. It all feels slick, but still relaxed, which is no easy balance to strike.

Now, before the early risers clutch their pearls and fire off their dramatically wounded reviews over their morning coffee, let’s get ahead of the great tragedy—the “noise at 11pm.”

Yes. 11pm. In a busy, successful restaurant with a bar. On planet Earth.

Shocking scenes, apparently.

One can only assume the expectation was that at precisely 10:59pm, all guests would fall silent, chairs would glide back without a sound, and the entire establishment would gently power down into monk-like stillness. Perhaps a member of staff should go around tucking everyone in and dimming the conversation to a whisper?

In reality—brace yourself—people were enjoying themselves. There was conversation. Laughter, even. Glasses being used. The sort of utterly unreasonable behaviour you’d expect in a place serving excellent food and drink to happy customers.

I thought I’d get this review in early, before the “couldn’t sleep, far too lively for a venue designed for socialising” brigade wake up and let the world know how personally inconvenienced they were by other people having a good time at 11pm.

For anyone operating within normal expectations, The Bulls Head is exactly what you want it to be: exceptional food, great drinks, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that reflects the fact it’s actually worth going to.

If that includes a bit of life at 11pm, then good—it means you’ve chosen the right place.

Had a lovely and very tasty roast Sunday dinner here. Ashley and Callum were running the place. Super great people and excellent service . Shame about having dogs allowed in the dinning are. I like dogs , but the smell of wet dog not nice whilst eating just not my thing. However, great food and very good staff. Maybe dog owners could be a bit more considerate for other dinners and leave the pooches at home or eat in the bar area.

What a fantastic dog friendly cafe this is! We visited with our dog on a Sunday lunchtime. I had booked a table in advance for 3 people and our medium sized dog. We were shown to a table in the window. Our dog settled down on the floor and we looked over the menu. A young lady came over to take our order. We went for 2 x steak & Stilton paninis and 1 x bacon & Brie panini, 1 x side of cheesy chips and 1 x Parmesan & truffle oil chips.

All of the food was fresh, tasty and delicious. Nothing disappointed. I can certainly recommend the bacon & Brie panini ? The cakes looked amazing but we were too full to have any of them. We will definitely be visiting here again and will try the cakes!

I called in on Friday evening with friends. I wanted to compliment the staff on the service they give. It was 1 of the staffs 1st shift, young girl, who took my order of 4 pina coladas.
