There was no host to welcome us, when we arrived. We waited at the bar for ages for someone to help us. The person who served us was uninterested and miserable. The steak was tough but the sea bass was ok, if a little thin. I would expect the 30% discount with the voucher, to encourage me to come back and pay full price, but it has actually made me not want to come back at all.

Overall it was lovely. People were nice, food was great, service was good.My major gripe is to eat here costs £20-£30 more than other food pubs so we don't often. Last night was Mothers day eve so I couldn't get anywhere else. My minor gripe last night was when you advertise honey roast carrots....and they come as boiled carrots it's a disappointment. Similarly when you say camembert on a burger with seasoned fries, you expect to be able to see and or taste it. Did we make a fuss no, will it impact our decision to pay more and return. Only time will tell

After a few minutes wait to be seated at our booked table the table was good. The young lady who came to serve us was very good , she had a very friendly and helpful manner

Early mothers day treat with my mum, nan, sisters and 3yr old niece which just so hapoened to be on international womens day. We got a table with a view overlooking the canal, table service was friendly and prompt, food was lovely and good size portion. Lovely setting for a catch up snd to top off a lovely day we were stopped on way out by an elderly lady on the next table to complement us on how lovely. well mannered and well behaved my 3yr old niece was (icing on the cake) Definitely recommend ?

The service myself and my family received was impeccable. The waitress also asked during our meal if we would like more drinks I thought that was a fabulous touch! But unfortunately the standards of cleaning was poor and the food standards also. Our waitress took us to a table which had what looked liked plaster boards pieces, or possibly something that’s fallen out of the wall like the mortar crumbling away. Along side this the table was not lay correctly and the waitress swiftly made it before we sat down at the table. The pictures hung on the wall and light fitting next to our table were covered with dust and cobwebs. Now to the food, it was the first of the meals to come out of the kitchen on that day. The flavours of everything were impeccable! But it was cold!! We didn’t complain as the pub was beginning to get busy and due to myself and my son being autistic we thought it best to wolf it down and get out of there. Due to my autism textures stand out to me like a bad smell and whilst eating my almost beautiful Sunday lunch I noticed 2 out of 3 roast potatoes had been cooked prior and reheated. Then trying to pay for our meal was another issue in its self. It seems the pub was definitely under staffed for a Sunday. I was stood waiting around for a member of staff to pay the billSo there you go that was my families experience.

Nice place have been a few times, only let down was a member of the serving staff was somewhat abrupt and rather pushy if we wanted drinks or food, we had literally just walked in and sat down and just started to look at what was available, it was also a quite part of the afternoon after the rush.We ended up just going to the bar for drinks, bar staff were very helpful

Food was barely warm , and we had the joy of various dogs barking . We've nothing against them but don't want to hear it during a meal. Also one of the serving staff dropped a knife on the floor, and rather than change it, it was put back on the table. Not hygienic at all.

Some places claim to be dog friendly when they are actually dog tolerant. The owners here clearly love dogs, with blankets and treats provided. The menu is good and the food is well cooked and presented. Those who need gluten-free food are well catered for. We and our Springer will be back!

Came in for some lunch after walking nearby.Quirky converted building full of character, sat by the trent and mersey canal. We ordered, burger, fish n chips and sausage and mash, needed some dietry changes which our server Chris was most helpfull with.Considering its a Saturday lunchtime, our food came quite quickly, and it was piping hot and delicious.....my burger was by far the best Ive had in a long time with a beautifully charred taste. My companions food was also of the same high standard. Thanks to Chris and the Kitchen Brigade for 3 wonderfull meals.

It a great pub for groups due to its size. There’s never enough staff serving though. You often have to ask for a drink. The food is pricy in relation to the quality but portions are generous. Overall it’s good.
