What a find, outstanding customer service, well focused and warm, very clean and not too pricey. The rooms are great. The soar and pool services are second to none, and there's a gym, too.

No hair dryer in the room, no sleepers, no wardrobe. Wet sauna not hygienic, with no shower inside to clean the sits so you have to sit in the sweat of others. People enter to the sauna with no towels to sit on it. High risk of dermatological issues and infections. In the room you hear the noise of traffic.

Didn't stay but had a meet there.Food & drinks: Drink machine didn't work in reception but receptionist brilliant.Noteworthy details: Tired and could do with replacing the chairs in reception, threadbare on arms carpet stained and the glass needs cleaning around the main area.

Location is a bit out the way which I prefer, as it's quiet. Some will want something closer to town.Clean and tidy. Rooms seem dated. The lower level I was on was the best room I have been in here so far.I couldn't get any heat out my shower, I used the tap connected shower head.I don't rate the evening food or menu myself, plus my order came to me wrong, I had to re-order which took time.Breakfast is decent.Been here before and will come again as it's ok overall.Rooms: Dated but comfortable and clean.Food & drinks: Don't rate the evening menu or food, plus they seem to suggest there busy, with a handful of people in the dining room. Messed up my food order, and I don't like chargrilled meat tastes burnt. All meat is chargrilled from what staff told me.Breakfast is decent though compared to many other places.

Nice building, shame they can’t run a hotel. On my first visit my room didn’t have a key. This was a problem that had been known about for some time, but they hadn’t got round to getting a replacement. So I had to find someone to let me into my room every time. The breakfast room has 2 coffee machines. They both broke down on my first morning. The person who was supposed to be fixing them started serving breakfasts. I went to my room (via reception to get access, obviously) to make my coffee. This is not a budget hotel. My second visit (I go to an event there, so I’m a captive customer) featured me being asked to vacate my room while I was unpacking as I was due to check out that day. My digital room key was cancelled 3 times because “I had checked out”.My friend was told he needed to clear his room as he had only booked until Saturday. He showed his booking receipt which had him staying until Sunday.“No problem sir, we’ll just cancel the lady taking your room later.”We worked out who that was, and she was most impressed by having her room breezily cancelled at 3PM while she was already at the hotel. The coffee machines broke down again, but when I complained about coffee perhaps being an expectation for breakfast I found their idea of customer service is to shout at unhappy customers, and accuse them of being rude (not correct - I wasn’t doing the shouting, I didn’t insult her).In short, the management is incapable of running their booking system, supplying room keys or breakfast. There’s places charging less than half these rates that can manage that.

The food is just something what you can't really call it food. The salad was awful, no taste, poor and unmade chicken, even I just couldn't take a picture because of the way that looked. The room is basic and the wind is coming in between the balcony doors...freezing!!!The air conditioning is loud and you need to turn it on at night and you can't sleep because of the noise. The pool needs some renovation.Things ok: breakfast and the room was clean.

Needs Improving, Served cold and reheated food , the mattress was just two singles put together but the Mickleover get away with calling it a "King size bed" and the staff are very rude to College students when we stay for the week, especially the waiters who serve the food at 5.30pm. However the morning breakfast team are very pleasant to be around. The hotel is in a serious need of refurbing to comply with modern standards and to have any hope with competing with strong competitors like the Leonardo hotels and Holiday Inn. I would definitely not recommend staying here and much rather pay a little bit extra to stay at the Leonardo as you are guaranteed to have a great experience at there hotels.

Straight away from checking in the staff where instantly rude and for the rest of my stay they persisted to be rude yet when over hearing their conversations with other people staying within the hotel they where very pleasant and greeting towards them on my first night I had the meat feast pizza which was not advertised as spicy yet as you can guess, it was ! The next day I had the “gourmet burger” which when opened looked absolutely revolting the bun came covered in grease and as expected the chips where cold for my final night I had the fish and chips which looked a lot more appetising, chips again where cold and the fish had absolutely no taste for the price of which they where selling these meals it was absolutely not up to the expected standards one of the people I was eating with ordered the chicken schnitzel which when first cut open obviously was pink (he is now ill). Every morning the breakfast was awful very watery beans the bacon was covered in fat and the sausages where always undercooked after eating half a sausage i wasn’t especially to enticed to indulge in any more to follow on with the staffs rude attitude when we was in the hot tub after around 10 minutes a member of staff came over to us and told us to not stay in too long as we may “pass out” even though the day before there where people sat in the hot tub for at least 2 hours ??? Overall when first arriving at the hotel I was very impressed with the quality of the place but shortly after meeting some of the staff I began to hate the place every single member of staff in the hotel was rude, as well on the last night we encountered two people waiting to check in standing in-front of an empty reception with no staff to be found, I walked past a member of staff from the gym facilities and told him about the customers waiting and told me it wasn’t his problem. they are paid to be nice and serve the paying customers of the hotel so why didn’t they ??

GYM/POOL REVIEW. I didn’t stay at the hotel, I was visiting family nearby so booked a pass for the gym and pool via a 3rd party website. I wasn’t expecting much. Friendly staff who offered towels and padlocks for the lockers. The gym itself is split into two small rooms, one mostly for cardio and the other mostly freeweights. Standard hotel gym with modern equipment with touch screen entertainment. The low review comes from the locker rooms and pool. The men’s locker room floor was a cocktail of various types of hair, one of the toilet cubicles had at least a weeks worth of dirt on the floor. Out of the 3 showers available, only two had locking doors. Hot water and good quality water pressure. No where to hang a towel or put your wash bag. The pool is a 90s marvel. Had to have a shower at the top of some stairs and then proceed down to reach the pool. This seemed like a health and safety hazard. The pool was small but sufficient for the size of the hotel. Again the floor around the pool wasn’t particularly clean and the bottom of the pool felt gritty. The jacuzzi was busy and clearly the top attraction. Steam room and sauna were both nice, but was cautious about where I was placing my feet, fearing the inevitable dirt.I would not return purely down to the cleanliness of the pool and locker room and I’ve been looking forward to going home to scrub my feet.

Went here a while back for a medical. Months later got a considerable parking ticket fine. Apparently I should have registered my vehicle at reception, but no staff members mentioned this, and considering I was there for no more than 25 minutes, a £170 parking fine was a bit of a shock! Plus it does state free parking on thier website and I personally never noticed any signs stating otherwise when I parked up.
