Amazing fish and chips and peas, batter crispy generous portion, great value queues out the door good banter. Best fish and chips in New Mills have been here few times. Can't wait till our next trip to Derbyshire. Keep up the excellent service and food.

I really wish i could rate this chippy higher as i really want to love it, but since moving to Mellor and this became out nearest chip shop, i have to say I've been constantly disappointed which i say with a heavy heart! The fish is always lovely. ALWAYS. However the chips each time (at least the 5 times we've been) have been the ends of chips, and seem to be a day old, possibly just lunchtime old, but still old and hard. So disappointing, and each time we've given it another chance and tried going at different times to see if its any different but it isn't. When you go for a chippy above all else you at least want half decent chips, but sadly not from here. I really hope this changes at some point and we'll return as customers, but until then we'll have to find somewhere else.

It's a quality chippy with great service where they seem to know everyone. Always a bit tight with the vinegar on the chips though but i like them

I had once fish from this place, sometime ago. I have noticed that among a genuine large pieces of cod was one small, which "pretended" to be a big one. It had formed a roll from the breadcrumbs and adjusted to it. I have preyed in my mind to not get that one. Unfortunately the guy, who served me swiftly grabbed it, wrapped it in a paper and charged me (price of a large cod- of course) with his poker face. I don't live in New Mills locally, I coming there sometimes but I will always remember to avoid this shop with it's crafty hank.

11 out of ten. my wife and i went here 2 years ago and we couldnt believe how good the fish and chips were. we have been to lots of chippys and this is in the top 3 of all time. no nonsense establishment. keep up the good service guys.
