Al-madina Takeaway
38 Market St, Whaley Bridge, High PeakWe’ve lived in Whaley for over six years now and tried all the restaurants. If you want a reasonable curry, go to Ikrams. If you want a really good curry, go to Memories of India. If you want the best curry you’ve had in your life, go to Al-Madina. Everything is perfect, the poppadums are fresh and clearly cooked in fresh oil, the naans and rotis are to die for and the lamb is the best we’ve ever had. It’s worth moving to Whaley just for Al-Madina, never mind the fact that it’s a fabulous place to live! ?

The Master Fryer
94-96 Albion Rd, New Mills, High PeakI was surprised about a previous review as this is the only chippy that I would go to in New Mills. The staff are always friendly and the fish and chips is excellent. Does not ‘over-batter’ the fish and gives care and attention to detail in my experience.

Turkish Grill
96 Market St, Chapel-en-le-Frith, High PeakI can't give 5 starts without going into details why. So it's going to be two part review. First food based and second why i had food in first place.First part. Food.Gourmet burger is just better. Deal with it. Not like regular burgers are worse and you shouldn't have them. Its just much mych better taste, using same ingredients. They using same ingredients in both. But once you try gourmet you will know there's no way back. So if you not sure which burger go for.. Gourmet is your answer. And let your senses be in heaven. Simple like cheap wine from Lidl. You can get 4£ wine from there and yoy will enjoy it. Spend a bit more and wine simply tastes better. And also chips. Second best chips i had with burger ever.Part two. Humanity.I was on ky way from work. Going to use 199 to get back to NM. Problem was bridge in Whalley Bridge was being repaired. And 199 was going different way. Except on last ride they didn't. This route was changed last minute and i was stuck in Chapel. After walking on crutches into every pub and restaurant asking could anyone give me a lift (keep in mind after 10 pm taxis on Fridays do not pick uo calls) and being told that they just had a drink and can't drive (and then seeing those who drank alcohol driving cars) i ended up here asking how mutch do i need to order for them to go to NM so i can go with them... Ans they did that fir free. Didn't ask for a penny. Didn't mentioned anything. Just like that. Even when they didn't have a single course there. They just took me there, dropped me off in front of my place. Now i gave a tip to driver and had gourmet burger with chips. Didn't have to do it as i could just go for free. But i thought at least i can do that much. They have restored my faith in humanity. They did something amazing yet simple.Sadly I can only give 5 stars once. But i can buy from there often. And i will. For food. For service. For amazing people there. ???

Papa Pan Pizza
78 Market St, New Mills, High PeakAfter ordering deep an pizzas 14" for some time, we came to the opinion that deep pan only truly arrived at 11 inch. Could it be the raw dough is same size but stretched further for the bigger pizza??.After ordering 11 inch tonight and getting exactly as ordered, tonight's order arrived and it was amazing!!! Whoever cooked tonight. Please do it again.I won't hold my breath but would be lovely if this is the way forward.

Phoenix Chinese Takeaway
16 Market St, Whaley Bridge, High PeakBeen going to the Phoenix since 2007 and they food is consistently of a very good quality. If I ask for something to be changed like more chilli or a substitute ingredient they are always happy to oblige. My other half has an allergy and they go out of their way to make sure we get precisely what we asked for and to ensure that the food it as we requested it. You can't ask for more.

The Cock Pub, Whaley Bridge
22 Buxton Rd, Whaley Bridge, High PeakVisited this gem on a cloudy early spring day, and it was exactly what my partner and I needed. The cozy atmosphere, accentuated by a warm, real fireplace, made us feel right at home. The acoustic music playing in the background was the cherry on top - just loud enough to enjoy, yet soft enough to not interrupt our conversations. What really set this place apart, though, was the staff. Their friendliness and attentive service truly made our experience unforgettable. We're already looking forward to our next visit when we're back in town. A must-visit for anyone looking for a relaxing time with great company.

Rems Cafe Bar & Restaurant
29 Market St, Chapel-en-le-Frith, High PeakWe live locally and visit Rems regularly for drinks and tapas. We've never had a bad meal and been over 50 times at least. Super quick service, sizable portions, and very reasonably priced. Love it here. If there is better tapas anywhere within 50 square miles, I've not heard of it. You won't be disappointed. The Judith Mary
Canal Basin, Whaley Bridge, High PeakHad a lovely, relaxing trip on the Judith Mary Canal boat today, from Whaley Bridge travelling along the High Peak Canal, which was very enjoyable. The Atmosphere aboard the boat was great, it was decorated out for Christmas, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, working very hard to make sure everyone was happy. We had a Christmas meal, which consisted of a Turkey batch, roast potatoes, pig in blanket and a stuffing ball, served with gravy and cranberry sauce, followed by a very tasty warm mince pie and fresh thick double cream.(included in price)You can have an alternative menu for dietary requirements arranged when booking. There is a well stocked bar on the barge, serving beers, lagers, cider, wines, and spirits, with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, mulled wine, and speciality coffees, all at reasonable prices. There are toilets on board, which are clean. The trip lasts roughly 2 hours, but to be honest, time went so quickly. hardly noticed .Trip turns around at some point during the cruise, so you end back up at Whaley Bridge.
