Food was excellent, I thought the waitress top was inappropriate though.

I dont usually review places unless I can give five stars (my mum taught me that if you can't say anything nice you should say anything) but this place was dire. The food was hit and miss with the emphasis on miss: the calamari could have been onion rings or just circles of batter for all the texture and flavour they had. The pizza bases seemed to be pre-rolled frozen dough. Cheap ingredients prepared badly. The staff seemed more interested in shutting up shop at 9pm than asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. The prawns were well cooked in too much sauce.

What’s happened to Vecchia? We’ve been dining here for about 15yrs but after tonight won’t be returning. First off , we ordered a bottle of Sauvignon but got Soave( I guess our mistake as the waitress didn’t know the difference between the two and we assumed they’d served us the right wine until we checked the bottle and realised). The prawn cocktail starter was served with what tasted like budget frozen prawns in a peculiar tasting sauce. Me and my husband ordered a fillet steak and a sirloin for main. Both cooked differently, these got mixed up and we ended up with the wrong steaks, questioned this with the waiter who told us we had received the right orders. We didn’t think we had, it’s not difficult to tell the difference between sirloin and fillet. I didn’t rate the service or attitude of our waiter so won’t be returning, which is a shame as we’ve never previously had a bad experience at Vecchia. We’ll take our custom to places that actually try to put things right and care about customer experience and satisfaction.

Dishes were quite hit and miss. I had carbonara, tasted ok but was not authentic, it was swimming in cream sauce so much i had to use a spoon. One of us had calamari starter, he couldn't tell the batter from the calamari. After our mains we were ignored as they were packing up, it was about 9 so early for them. We were not offered dessert or coffee. We asked for the bill and left. I'm not local but if ever in the area I would not go back.

When visiting relatives in the area, Vecchia Italia has been our first choice for a meal out for many years due to the consistently good food and attentive service. Our experience yesterday (Friday) was again excellent, as usual. They deserve all the praise they get.

We had a lovely meal at this typically Italian restaurant. We had garlic pizza and prawns for starters then steak and chicken for main course. Nice friendly staff

Chanced upon the Vecchia, it's nothing special but it's very adequate. Food was simple but OK, our server was extremely pleasant, overall I'd go again but there is little choice in Chapel En Le Frith

Visited whilst on holiday in the area. Very friendly, helpful and attentive staff that made us really welcome though we’re not local. Great varied menu- starters, pasta, pizza, few specials. Food was nice, portions good size and good value, mains are £8.5-£9.5. We had a generous full size pizza garlic bread for starter. Mains were quite good too. It was nice to see baked pancakes - crespelle pollo on the menu, that was unusual. Nice atmosphere, it got busier later on with family groups and couples. It did get quite noisy (nothing to soften the acoustics) but there was a very nice atmosphere. Great for groups and families especially if you’re in the area. Simple decor, very clean. It’s on the high street and you can park outside but there’s car park at the back I think.

Delightful place. Outstanding value for money. Car park is behind the restaurant, off Rowton Grange Road. The Crespelle di Pollo was a tasty mixture of flavours. Only 4 stars because the pancake was burnt on the base. The tiramisu was delicious and beautifully presented.
