Unfortunately gone down hill. Fish was terrible yesterday and half was green & inedible. Might have been unlucky but others in the group felt theirs was not great either!

Absolutley awful. Used to be the pinnacle of fish and chips. Sad state of affairs now, fish blown to pieces, crap chips and watery flavourless peas. Overpriced as well. I had been avoiding this place for a while due to bad experiences but gave it one last chance and that’s it now, never going back. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Great food. Always beautifully cooked. Clean eating area and friendly staff.Parking: Parking availability depends on time of day.

Not been for a while but was surprised they were empty when people are normally quing out the door. Served quickly but felt the cost was high compared to elsewhere but in the past this has always been reflected in the quality of the food. Living less than 10 minutes away we were really dissaponted. The chips didn't tastes fresh and were soft. The fish was overcooked and over battered. Having paid premium price we we not happy which was made worse by one of the 2 curry sauces we had ordered was missing. The curry sauce we did receive was small and bland. Sorry but I am not going ttodo a 20+ minutes round trip for a curry sauce but certainly will not be returning in a hurry. What a shame when they used to be so good. Georges, please put my refund in a charity box.

Just been for Fish n Chips here for the first time. Excellent food and very quick service, will be going back very soon. ??Kid-friendliness: Was some very well behaved children when we went.

Took a friend there for lunch. She enjoyed every mouthful. It was freshly prepared and well presented. This is a good place to have freshly cooked fish and chips. The staff were polite and attentive.Wheelchair accessibility: The chairs will be moved and the door opened.Dietary restrictions: They give attention to the dietary requirements. In this case a citrus allergy.

Chips were excellent ? fish really good and curry sauce to die for. Good meal deals. I had small cod, chips and curry sauce plus can of tango all for just £10.

Over the years we have eaten at a few George’s take aways. We recently moved up Long Eaton and have tried this one 3 times. There won’t be a 4th. By far the worst George’s we have encountered. Stale overcooked chips, poor quality fish and grumpy staff who clearly do not want to be there on all 3 occasions. Truly dreadful and with the Cods Scallops just down the road I know where we will go in future.

George's Tradition at Long Eaton cook food for both the restaurant and for takeaway, but I couldn't find a separate review form for the takeaway service. The food we bought was to take away. Most of the chips were inedible as they were black. They were also tough. The black chips were obvious on opening the lids of the 3 boxes so it would have been very clear to the server that the chips should have been replaced. Very disappointed. If I'd been given these in the restaurant, I would have sent them back, but not so easy to do when you've sat down with the family to eat lunch. Won't be going back. No photos as writing a review was an after thought and the first time I've ever felt the need to do this. Maybe if anyone else has the same experience, they could upload a photo. There's no incentive for improvement unless enough people complain.

Meals are very good, staff are both friendly and welcoming. Cannot fault it at all. 10 out of 10 .
