Been here a few times midweek. The staff are helpful, friendly and work hard. The locals go towards making it welcoming atmosphere. We had various meals all were top class( and at happy hour prices, 4 till 5 pm)Everyone was disappointed with the lack of the usual real ale selection. We will probably give it one more try and maybe think of other local pubs.

The Remarkable Hare, or should I call it The Unremarkable Hare.Pleasant staff, and a nice ambience in the dining room. It gave unrenovated Bill’s but without the decorations and raffia. Prices are a bit high for what it is flavour and excitement wise. The portions were large however they should focus on reducing the quantity and increasing the quality of the food. That’s just my opinion though. When we asked for a drinks menu they said they didn’t have one, only food menus which seemed a bit strange.…I had the half chicken with chips, which were good and honestly the chicken was massive. It was massive, probably half was bigger than a whole small chicken so defiantly worth the price. It had kind of a smoky a barbecue flavour to it which was odd but not unpleasant and it was moist not dry. In fact it was a very nice moist chicken which was good.A number of my friends had the pie of the day, can’t remember the flavour, with one calling it a bit sweaty and salty - I don’t think they were very impressed. To be honest, I think I was a regret. I was told the mash was a bit sticky - as if they had used the wrong potato. Maybe next time use a Maris Piper. Just a suggestion. In terms of the burger, we asked for the one with all the regular toppings but the veggie patties with bacon on the side and the bacon was not on the side. They kindly brought ketchup and mayo without being asked which was nice however I did also ask for spicy mayo with my chicken and received only chilli sauce. However, as I said staff were nice and pleasant and the service was fast enough. I thought the piano as a table is quite fun. We were suggested this by someone (after we had already been) so it is probably one of the best for the area.

I was completely impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the exceptional service, and especially the food. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the ribs as it was burger night, but I was thoroughly satisfied with my choice. I opted for the German burger, which consisted of bratwurst, beef patties, onions, and sauerkraut. It was absolutely delicious.

More expensive than wetherspoons in chesterfield, about 10 miles away, half an hour on X17, a rip off

So glad I paid a visit to this place. As a foreigner who didn’t grow up having roast dinners on a weekly basis, I was so happy to try them here. Absolutely delicious. ? The pub is small but really cozy, nice decor, chill vibes. Staff were helpful and smiling. Prices are reasonable. Overall it was a very good experience and I will definitely return.Vegetarian options: Roast nut tasted really good and it was a big portion.

We were told to go there by locals and they were right, it is a really good place. We wanted to sit at their restaurant but we arrived too late (after 7pm). So we got two pints and two pizzas at the bar, but one would have been enough. The staff was very nice and they are dog friendly (shelf with treats, bowls, water and toys)!Vegetarian options: Cauliflower pizza, brie and red onion pizza.

I used to really rate this place and it's food but it's really gone down hill? had to send 1 dish back for being cold, then realised what was meant to be chorizo in a dish was just sausage, pizza was undercooked, gammon hadn't been soaked so was incredibly salty (coming from someone who usually always adds salt to everything!), pork was tough. Won't be returning in a hurry that's for sure, such a shame.

Although the food is very good, the service is shocking. All the staff hang around the till area on their phones and chatting to each other. No one openly comes over and asks if you need anything, we had to keep getting up for extra drinks, for them to clear the table with our plates (although the glasses never got cleared, they just piled up in the middle), for the menus, for the bill. Even when they bring the menu then they don’t come back and ask what you’d like to order. Over 2 hours we were there and we only had a main, we decided against the pudding as no one came back to us and we had to go back again and ask for the bill. It’s unfortunate the service is terrible as the food is good. We’ve been a few times now and the service is always as shocking and slow so now this will be the last time.
