Great cafe next to parking lot, would recommend their breakfast options, delicious! Also strong coffee and lovely cakes. Friendly staff (esp to my kids!). A must visit if you’re in Matlock Bath!

Was having a coffee and food when a middle aged couple came in with a big ugly dog and a large Dalmatian and sat on the table behind us, we then had to endure these filthy animals, sniffing around our table, the owners who looked just like their dogs made no proper effort to control their slavering filthy animals. Why they couldn't have sat outside with their dogs I don't know. Not impressed with this growing trend of allowing dogs into eating establishments,To the owner. You've just lost a regular customer

Would not recommend. Waited 20 minutes..in no que to be served a coffee. Lots of staff bur only one young girl appearing to be ran off her poor little feet as no one else was helping. Even after the wait to be served..waited another 10 minutes for a takeout latte that was so gross my hubby threw it straight in the bin. Avoid.

The service experience at this establishment was notably subpar. Despite waiting for over 10 minutes with a colleague, the staff member on duty displayed a remarkable lack of acknowledgement. There was no greeting or even a simple acknowledgment of our presence, such as a brief 'Hi', 'Hello', or 'I'll be with you shortly'. This complete absence of basic customer interaction was quite unusual and disappointing.

I had high expectations but literally every item in my breakfast plate was cold. I’m not sure you could do it if you tried. The young lady (new) behind the counter was very helpful and polite though.

Visited at 11:35ish following a great panto in the Grand Pavilion upstairs. Upon trying to order some food, we were told they had finished serving breakfast/brunch though they were still serving it to other tables and the sign states until midday and lunch from midday (misleading if this is not the case). We didn't leave but decided to order coffees and cake (the only food they had available). After a good 10 minutes I had to remind them of the order, to which at that point they started making it. We had higher hopes for this place, perhaps we will be back and they'll live up to that standard, but for now service gets a 1 star, food 3 star and atmosphere 5 star. I'll revisit next year and hope to give a positive update.Parking: Small limited paid car park but very large car park over the road just up the hill slightly.

Another very lovely visit to Restoration cafe! Lovely cherry scone, great coffee but on every visit it is the warm and friendly welcome of the staff team that really makes a difference and makes it worth returning! There is the added bonus that you can buy jams, pickles and marmalades made on site…. These are not mass produced somewhere in a factory with a local label stuck on, but actually made by the staff team, they make a great small gift, a nice treat to take home. They also sell Grand Pavilion beers, tea and coffee . All the profits go back into keeping the Grand Pavilion building alive … the building is both an important heritage building and a great venue for everything from local kids drama classes and family parties through to internationally renowned live bands and theatre.

Came as part of a group with learn difficulties and dementia, The atmosphere was ideal and the food and drink was fantastic, but best of all was the service, Bridie helpful, understand and made our vista to matlock bath perfect.

Visited during a rainy day, wasn't very busy and plenty of space to sit. Order was eventually taken at the front after a short wait of no one acknowledging myself or the family waiting to be served. A slice of cake, bacon sandwich and 2 coffees ordered. Bacon sandwich arrived, no offer of sauce but credit due, actually tasted really nice. Shortly after, coffee and cake arrived. We had ordered flat whites and been presented with lattes, the kind your Mum makes with her first coffee pod machine. Waitress scurried off before we could ask why we have the wrong order. Cake was no doubt about 3 days old, had the texture of slightly chewy and not alot else. If you're after a good coffee, don't bother visiting here.

Matlock Bath is a wasted opportunity (by the local council) by its lack of diverse places to visit there - unless you like fish and chips or arcade machines. However The Pavillion/Restoration Cafe breaks that mould. We nearly missed this place whilst walking back to Cromford Mills today but saw the billboard outside proffering competitive drinks and rate priced. They weren’t wrong. But it was the general friendly atmosphere, the choice of cakes, the local souvenir edibles and bottled beers and the staff enthusiasm, knowledge and helpfulness which made the most impact. In these days of average coffees, daft prices and mean portion sizes it came as a pleasant surprise to find a venue that actually bucks that depressing trend and gave piping hot cappuccinos and generous millionaire shortcake pieces. Needless to say we shall be coming back every time we go to Cromford and will take advantage of their loyalty card scheme. It made the perfect end to what we thought would be just another walk along Matlock Bath Prom! A fascinating place with an equally fascinating history beautifully described in photographic form on the walls! Highly recommended - from the man who makes Victor Meldrew seem the easy going type!
