The Hardinge Arms is located in Kings Newton, South Derbyshire. It is a very old public house with low beams inside. If you have a requirement for food or even accommodation that can be covered as there are a number rooms available adjacent to the property. Food is served inside the pub or outside if you prefer on a nice day.It is a dog friendly pub so if you have a well behaved pet it won’t be alone.Rooms: Call the number on the website regarding availability of the rooms.Nearby activities: There are a number of different activities nearby some at Donington Park race track plus a few walking routes.Food & drinks: See the website for food and drink menu including specials

The hosts are both very nice,The buildings have plenty of character. The menu is basic but fairly priced.Parking is good. Two problems arose during the stay. Most importantly was that the shower was not working correctly and was not providing hot water. The hot water at the basin was tepid at best. The shower issue was raised with the proprietor. Surprisingly, even though we were booked for a second night, no offer was made to repair / change rooms / reduce the room charge, not even a complimentary drink. Simply, a "thank you for telling us'. Also the wifi in the room had a very unreliable signalled was virtually unusable. Shame because this is a really lovely location and the owners are nice but these were very genuine issues. No hot water in January! Things go wrong sometimes, that's life but the paying customers concerns should have been addressed.

I was marshalling at nearby Donington Park and needed a local place to stay for the night. I wanted somewhere reasonably priced with, preferably, a pleasant bar. The Hardinge Arms exceeded my expectation.I stayed in a twin room in the barn conversion. It was a good size for a twin and was warm and cozy. Perfect for my needs. The bar was a lovely place to have a beer and the staff seemed genuinely happy to have you there.Definitely worth considering if you are in the area. Perfect for Donington Park and the Airport.

A lovely pub with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Wood burner gave it a nice cosy feeling on a Sunday evening. I went here with my partner. We had a few drinks and did the pub quiz. Very friendly people. Would definitely visit again.
This is a great village pub. The landlady works really hard to make everyone welcome. Good food and drink and very good value.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here with family. The landlady is so friendly and they have made real improvements to the pub since we last visited. Great choice of reasonably priced wines, frequently changing beers and alcohol free options. Bar area very dog friendly but don’t believe they’re allowed in the restaurant area. Sunday lunch took about 40 minutes to arrive but we’ve waited far longer for roasts in other Melbourne pubs on busy Sundays. Chicken and beef were both lovely and served with masses of tasty veg. It’s wasn’t fancy but it was a good quality, tasty, proper pub roast. We’ll certainly return.

Awful over priced Sunday lunch. Over cooked roast potatoes, you get mainly boiled new potatoes? ? Very very long wait for food. Chicken looked grey & old! Is this place a dog zoo? So many dogs in there and it felt unhygienic. Will never turn for a Sunday lunch with our family! Never ever!

Top Drawer Boozer with a plethora of bespoke beers. Welcomed in by the locals with open arms and was pleasantly surprised by the fung shway of the gaff.
