We come here a lot of times as the food and drinks are good for the price and we over all have a nice time. We came out tonight to celebrate my birthday and we had starters mains and desserts which was all very nice, although I had the spinach lasagna and asked for veg and I only got peas, I was expecting a bit more of a variety. The waitress kazia was very use full, and made sure everything was okay with the food and offered us all more drinks. The service was very quick, and overall we all had an amazing time out.

Took my parents who were visiting from Liverpool out for dinner on New Year’s Eve. We had a lovely evening and were looked after by two very polite young ladies Maisie & Beth. The food very good with prompt service. Mum and Dad had nothing but positive responses which is always a bonus.

We stopped here for lunch on the way north, never been before, but the service from the waitress Kazia was superb. We were greeted with a smile, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, and we were never rushed. Certainly, I would call in again if we are in the area. Great job.

We went here for lunch on Christmas Eve and didn't know what it would be like, as we hadn't been for a long time. We were seated in a nice area and the waitresses were all very attentive. We didn't have starters but the mains were all good, including the child meal being a decent size. Two people had desserts and I had a chocolate based cocktail, which sounds horrible but it wasn't (I have a sweet tooth!). The cheesecake that my husband had was nice and a good size. Overall, the food and service exceeded my expectations and the food is reasonably priced.

Before I start I need to add that this was a last minute (this morning) decision for us to go out to tea for our 13th Wedding Anniversary with our twin 9 year olds so choice of venue was limited on Boxing Day. However, it’s local and we’ve always had a good experience here previously so we decided to go on the set Boxing Day menu at £24.99 for adults (3 courses) and 11.99 (3 courses) for the kids. There was a small choice on the starters and everyone was relatively satisfied. I had the cheese fondue which was a cheese roux with half a slice of garlic bread sliced in 2.. somewhat paltry offerings compared to the size of the bowl of sauce.. which I ended up considering a cheese soup with croutons! My son helped me out with his garlic bread Christmas tree.. tasty but a bit mal-proportioned. My daughter had the reindeer burger, requesting no salad but a slice of cheese. The cheese slice came in at £0.39 on top of the set menu price-the waitress had to return from the kitchen to warn us of that. Merry Christmas peeps! THEN it came out about a minute after the starters came out.. before the waitress did an about turn after realising that I hadn’t even dipped my first garlic bread sliver into my fondue.. cue dried up kids meal after putting it under the heat lamp for another 10 minutes. I forgot to say, there was one party of about 10 people and then 4 other tables with 2-4 on during our sitting at 6.30pm. I counted 6 FOH staff. Our drinks took a good 15 minutes to arrive after ‘cheese-gate’ by which time I had a mouth like Ghandi’s flip-flop. Refreshing though, none-the-less. 3 of us has carvery which was a decent selection of dried-up food. I get that, it’s the end of the sitting (I wasn’t aware it was QUITE so close to the end -more on that in a minute). But it was edible and if you saw me you’d know I’m not fussy but I left some and that’s extraordinary for me. I don’t overface myself unlike some but I have an appetite. I lost it mid mastication. It was hard work. Then came the puddings. The kids enjoyed their igloo ice cream. A little bit of drama and adventure with the puddings- and I mean a little bit. However, the trifle looked delicious and would have been had it been in the fridge. It was actually warm, not room temperature warm.. under-the-lights warm. After a go at half it I just couldn’t get my head around warm trifle. Such a shame as it could’ve been good. The piece-de-resistance came at 7.55 when we were handed a bowl of mayonnaise by the waitress. This was to be placed on the table ready for the breakfast sitting in the morning.. yep, we hadn’t even finished. We could’ve finished earlier had the drinks etc.. come out in time.. but how odd?? Isn’t it just rude?? We sought the bill before we were charged for the breakfast buffet! £86.16.. probably not bad for Boxing Day but we had a lovely time out regardless. If you want good value food and service however, this perhaps isn’t it.

Christmas Day Lunch, to be fair, the staff were ok and service was quick but the good news ends there. The food was set at at £55 per head which is not expensive for Christmas Day but the quality of the food was dreadful. The starters were very bland to say the least. The self service main course food was cold before you got back to your perch and was awful, just stodge which looked and tasted as though it was all cooked days ago. I've never seen such a sad looking excuse for a Xmas pud too. By the time we were ready to leave the £250, including a round of drinks, the four of us had forked out began to look very very overpriced indeed. Tip to the management, Christmas Lunch is meant to be special and if you can't manage it for the price then don't attempt it at all! Then again, I'm English and should be used to being let down when it comes to quality and value for money by now I guess.

The carvery mash, Turkey, carrots were rubbery, salmon arrived very late there was bones in it and puff pastry parcel was pointless.

We called in here on our trip to the North of the country. Fantastic service from Kazia. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was great and delivered hot and not all at once like many other establishments. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again whe we are in the area.
