32 Oxford St, RipleyThis was my second visit to Rokka, a warm welcome on both occasions. The restaurant was organised, clean and tidy.
The staff were very attentive and thorough throughout, the owner came across to check that we were happy with our meals.
Great choice of food and drinks all at a very good price, the food is fresh, very well presented …. five stars definitely deserved for a quality restaurant . We will certainly be going regularly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

1 Park Rd, RipleyThoroughly enjoyed a family meal here last night. All the food delivered to our table looked beautiful. I had Garlic Paneer Korahi. It was delicious. I tried Bombay Potatoes, Cauliflower Bhaji, Vegetable rice and Corriander Nan Bread. All tasted great with quality ingredients. Staff were attentive and friendly. Looking forward to my next meal here.

Ripley's Fish & Chips
1 New St, RipleyIt’s very hard as a ceoliac (gluten free) to find safe and tasty deliveries. We discovered that here did GF fridays and saturdays and didn’t disappoint! I ordered a battered sausage meal and requested cheesey chips, when they arrived the cheese came separate with a note warning it contained milk however no gluten, though this doesn’t make a difference to me as i have no allergy/intolerance to milk (I believe this as on the website it says the GF batter is also dairy and egg free) it was reassuring as a sign they take allergies seriously. Overall, tasty hot and fresh food despite ordering delivery, also great portion sizes and good for coeliacs! Other options on the menu included classic cod, chicken chunks and plain or battered sausages all available as a meal. Only shame is that GF is only available for 2 days of the week but can be understood due to the extra effort it takes to make it safe.

As soon I I saw the chicken jeera extra special starter arrive I knew I was in for a treat, absolutely beautiful with a little kick. Then for main course naga chicken a favourite of mine and it didn’t disappoint. All fair sized portions and brilliant value. Considering how much restaurants seemed to have put their prices up recently. Keep up the good work guys and we’ll be seeing you soon

Chapel St, RipleyBest Chinese for miles. Food is always fresh, perfectly cooked, can't fault anything. Staff always friendly on the phone and it's always piping hot when delivered.
Prices are good value and portions are plenty. We won't go anywhere else for Chinese.

Nan bread not as good as eat in but that's to be expected. I don't normally eat nan bread but it's the best I ever had. Staff so friendly. The room is a great size, staff were really helpful and omg the food was amazing!! We had the hot and cold buffet. There was lots to go round. I have had lots of messages this morning saying how impressed they were. It was delicious ?
Apollo DJ's & Children's Entertainers did an amazing job with the disco too. Great songs and everyone was up and dancing!
Thank you to all the team at the Marquis. You did a fantastic job and we will definitely be back x

2 Alfreton Rd, Codnor, RipleyWe were honoured to be hosted by these guys yesterday for my mums wake. The service throughout the day and night was out of this world. We used the function room which was light and airy and the dart boards helped the lads kept entertained. The buffet was beautiful and for what we paid my god there was everything from nibbles, beautiful sandwiches, cake trays. Today was so difficult for us all, but these guys helped us celebrate such a sad day.
The girls behind the bar were lovely, polite and so compassionate. They couldn’t do enough, sorry I don’t know your names.
Just thank you so much, all of you.

I ordered Gammon which was served with egg pineapple and chips.
Washed down with a glass of Guinness Zero.
The Gammon was cooked well the egg pineapple and chips were good.

Thorntree inn
161 Church St, Waingroves, RipleyThe Thorn Tree is in the tiny village of Waingroves, just across the field from Codnor and easily the best pub for quite a few miles around. It's small but maximises its space incredibly well, with one larger room and a smaller room close by. There is also a decent sized beer garden (considering the overall size of the pub) that is lovely to sit out in in summer. There is a good selection of beers and ales on at all times here, as well as all your usual gins and all that nonsense. The Thorn Tree is one of those pubs that really is at the heart of its village. That isn't because it is the only pub in the village, but because you genuinely get the impression that, were the pub to go, then a huge part of Waingrove's essence would go with it. The landlady is a lovely woman, and there is a really nice community feel in here. Everyone is really friendly. I have never eaten here (save for some crisps!) so I cannot comment on the food, but I can assure you that, should you be passing through Waingroves, you would be a fool not to pop in here. One thing to bear in mind, though - this pub, quite rightly, only takes cash. The nearest cash machines are in Codnor or Ripley...
