Seasonal cream tarts....Rhubarb. Prices may seem a little high ( aren't they everywhere?)but the quality is all there.

Always rated this shop highly until now. Placed an order Thursday, went to collect it the next day after 10.00am to find that they hadn’t put the order together, asked what I had ordered but they no longer had 1 item so substituted it with two of another and didn’t charge me any extra. Took them back to work for my colleagues to find that the doughnuts were rock hard, they were extremely cold as well, suggesting that they were the days before and had been stored overnight in the fridge. My opinion of this shop has now gone downhill and will not order from here again

At first i was upset because i wanted to purchase a parrot, however when i discovered they made bread: WOW. Just WOW. Best bread ive ever had. Ive just purchased a bread bin to put their bread in. I'm so happy im not one of those gluten intolerant folk. Thankyou.

Birds is one of Swadlincote's most established businesses. It primarily sells bread and rolls baked on the premises, as well as the most fantastic cream cakes. These include éclairs, elephants feet and blackcurrant cheesecakes, to name but a few. They also make a great variety of filled sandwiches and rolls. Birds is, and has always been one of the most popular shops in Swadlincote with queues often forming at peak times, but they dissipate quickly. If you're looking for some fresh, tasty and home-made food, you can't really go wrong with Birds.

You would have to travel a long way to get cobs like Birds makethey really are in a class of their own. Even when I have done all of my shopping elsewhere I still go to Birds for the cobs. They are a little on the expensive side for cakes etc but you get what you pay for, the cakes are splendid and are also different from your box standard that you can get at supermarkets or other bakeries. They have a very tempting selection in their window displays which you cannot resist. They do fantastic little miniature cakes, biscuits, specially ordered and made special ocassion cakes. The staff are always well kept and presentable. Birds is situated on the main high street in Swadlincote.

Nice tasty cakes, and the cream is just so much better than any supermarket can make. They are freshly made and taste so nice, i think i already said they are tasty, but they are.
