This restaurant has really gone down hill… looks like it’s changed hands potentially. Food greasy, had a band on but put restaurant users in the bar with the band so you couldn’t talk over dinner. Couldn’t wait to get out and won’t be back.

Landlord appeared at the end of the night introducing himself as the landlord and making a point that he is gay, I did not feel the need to state I was straight. Then proceeded to make wild allocations which even his own locals and staff said we're fabricated. The pub was a lovely pub until he appeared. I recorded everything and will be forwarding the real time evidence to his local authority

Its a very 'local' pub. The accommodation was very poor. Just a converted house. While i was there heating broken... rooms freexing! Laminate floring in bedroom and ceramic tiles bathroom. Door to my room right next to gront door, and the stairs up were also "in my room' so very noisy! Food was nice but limited, and unless you were local very li.ited atmosphere

What a fantastic family visit , very helpful staff and the food was amazing ? nobody chose the same as each other. Not been there in years but will definitely be going back in the near future.

Not had much food there as we object to so many dogs in the pub and even being allowed with people who were actually eating.2 dogs were splashing the floor with urine and it did smell.some were fastened to table legs.very unhygienic we think.

We popped in on our way home to have a meal, as I had just had surgery. We loved the place in the summer, as staff and place was friendly. We arrived and it was incredibly smokey, probably damp wood. we ordered drinks, and we asked for a table for 2. We were placed next to a door that was constantly open for staff, it was cold, so we asked if we could change tables, as it was chilly, and the barwomans response ' well where do you want to sit ' in a abrupt and rude tone. We decided then that a meal there was not for us on that particular day.

Visited on Christmas Day and have to say it was dreadful! We booked quite late on due to having a relative who is extremely poorly and wanting to spend time with them then come and hopefully have a relaxing meal after visiting them so a very difficult day for us. No atmosphere! Table with mismatched cutlery and no desert spoons. Table next to us full of dirty glasses all the time we were there. Poor servers obviously struggling to cope. Main course was shocking! Two out of 4 had no pigs in blankets. No one had parsnips! Very basic meal! None of us ate more than half. Dirty plates left on table for ages!! Other parties in the room complaining so made for a stressful atmosphere. As previously said it was a particularly difficult day already but we couldn’t wait to leave! We did get a discount but that really didn’t compensate for the shambles it was!

Christmas Day 2023 meal out Had high hopes for this place but seems to have fell short. Had to wait 20 for our table to be reset as we were booked for 15:30. Say down and had our drinks order taken. Waited a few minutes for our drinks and waited for a Pepsi max which arrived after my dad finished his starter. Mains arrived and disappointing wasn’t the word. No one on our table finished our main courses. There should be consistency between all dishes. Some of the turkey dinners didn’t have pigs in blankets. My turkey was too pink for me to eat and left half my dinner and the pigs in blankets were pretty much anaemic. We all ‘finished’ our mains and was left with dirty plates for 30 minutes for the dirty plates to be cleared. There were a few tables around us who started to get restless on the wait on their courses. There was no table checks regarding our meal. There was a general unrest in the restaurant as all tables around us were complaining about the wait on their courses. Which left us feeling uneasy and wanted to leave very prompt. Desserts arrived and were given soup spoons. Even though the table was already ‘pre-set’ with unmatched cutlery and that were watermarked. Before leaving we congregated at the bar area waiting for my dad to pay the bill. The girl behind the bar who I thought was the ‘supervisor’ was criticising guests talking to the chef whilst in ear shot of us. I think it’s disrespectful and unprofessional to talk behind the bar whilst we are still here. All in all will definitely not be returning any time soon. This review has no bad intentions regarding the waitresses. They did an amazing job. Just very poor management this time round.

We visited on Sunday with some friends and our children. The entrance and bar area are very nice and cosy, and the view of the actual windmill being preserved is making this place very authentic.I had a Sunday roast, and it was really nice. The cheesecake was okay, but the portion could be more generous.I agree on some reviews regarding the restaurant area ambience. As much as downstairs is welcoming, the upstairs is a bit cold. Some colourful and possibly a background music could do a trick:)

We had a Christmas meal for a family party of eleven and couldn't fault the evening. The service from Mai and her team was excellent, the food was very hot, large portions and each course served quickly. The upstairs dinning room was clean, bright and modern. We will definitely be back. Well done and thank you.
