Lovely little village pub with a great selection of ales from the Thornbridge brewery. Cosy and warm inside and a quirky sitting out area round the back where the pleasant staff went above and beyond in making our walking group welcome.

Cracking pub, great service, good food and a good selection of ales. Try the Jaipur. It's now a firm favourite when we come walking. The chips are real, not frozen just real. I Very highly recommend. Thank you.

Had a really lovely meal out in the pergola - Kentucky Fried Pheasant (or KFP) was a highlight, as well as the venison & chorizo burger! Vicky was amazing and made us feel so looked after. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in the Peak District :)

Food was excellent and the service was great. Traditional old pub - well worth a visit if you’re passing through or staying/living near by.
Amazing pub. Even in the depths of darkest winter, booking on a Saturday night is essential, so make sure not to turn up here on the fly.Incredible value for money, generous portions and great quality produce. Cosy settings, with really good service. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Great lunch after a nice walk. Ordered sausage and mash and steak sandwich both beautiful and 100% worth the money if not worth more.
