Horrible badly signed site layout. Firstly there's a trick non entrance that takes you round an associated car park with no way back into the garage and you come out to find the correct entrance. This is ok for petrol/diesel but the EV charging is just a single unit with the labelling on the 2 sides you can't see when you come in. Then, the charger is in the middle of about 4 tyre pump (or vacuuming?) units and someone tidying their car and seeing to their tyres completely blocks any views of the charger... goto exit and come round again. Obviously the EV is only lightly used as Shell charge about 15p per kWh than many others and you'll only get 43kW rate anyway. The toilets look reasonable at first but could do with more frequent maintenance and inspection. Well stocked Waitrose and BK(?) outlet along with what might be a peak commute time sausage café - closed by mid afternoon on Saturday....then there's a nightmare roundabout (to get back to the A50) which I would not want to be on in a bad weather rush hour.

Went in last Friday 25th of august for a cup of coffee and some fuel for my van, usually visit shell stations as they are good and friendly staffed however on this particular occasion I was met with an extremely arrogant and under qualified member of staff. This red haired lady got really annoyed when I opted to pay cash rather than card and pulled a face when she had to cancel the transaction on the card pinpad. Not only this but she took far too long to count and then give me my change and receipt. The other Lad who was working with her managed to serve 4 customers and was serving the 5th by the time she finished my transaction. Her name badge said customer service champion and then her name underneath which was Natalie. It should have said customer service loser with the way she handled the transaction. I wish I'd been served by the other lad who clearly knew how to respect and treat the customers he served. They all left smiling. Except me. This lady needs replacing ASAP. This is not how to treat customers and she should be ashamed of herself

I kinda like it We only went here because the last junction welcome break derby east had broken toilets. But let's get back to shell. It's nice has a KFC and a Waitrose. And a KFC drive through too!. Clean but had some wasted space at the entrance. Over the road is a subway and a charity shop. But what I like is in the entrance theirs a nice, welcoming picture of trees as the wallpaper. Everywhere is clean even the petrol station. But me personally. I wouldn't use Waitrose, to expensive anyway it should may as well be a spar or coop that are already expensive but not as expensive

Go through more staff (AB FORECOURTS) than a recruitment agency. Staff get treated unfairly!! This particular site should’ve be let to a proven forecourt retailer I.e (Karan retail, MPK,HKS,ASCONA & SGN). “Build, develop and motivate a staff of over 100” contradictory!! United wholesale & United wholesale are fellow Scot’s (sarwars & ramzans Glaswegians) look how successful theyve been (own german doner) they treat their staff with respect & dignity. As do the Sri linkans!!

Great place to stop for fuel and a little break, good choices of food and drinks. Staff polite.Warning. Don't park in the IBIS car park, we got a £60 fine for 30 mins. We didn't notice a sign.
