Lovely pub - big roaring fire on a cold night and a lovely pint. If I lived more local I'd make this my regular haunt.

We (a group of 18) stayed in Wirksworth for a weekend of walking in the Peak District and went for a night out at The Quarryman, and what a great night it turned out to be. The landlord and landlady, bar staff and locals were incredibly welcoming and the pub had a great atmosphere and played some great music. Thank you The Quarryman for giving us such a memorable night.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the pub as, despite the sign outside saying it opened at 12, it wasn't. Sat and waited for 20 minutes, but still no sign of life.

Cracking boozer. Oozing with Derbyshire charm. Great ales!
Strongly promotes the fact that you can watch the 6 nations rugby there, but when we went to watch the Wales v England match, the barman refused to turn down the 80s music blaring out of the speakers so we couldn't hear the rugby commentary. Only gets a second star because it served a decent pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord.

Excellent old traditional little town pub.. With a great atmosphere. Will call in again when the weather picks up.. Thank you for the hospitality 10/10

A proper pub, with real people. It’s the sort of pub you wish you had as your local… if you aren’t a local.
