The Quarryman
W End, Wirksworth, MatlockWe (a group of 18) stayed in Wirksworth for a weekend of walking in the Peak District and went for a night out at The Quarryman, and what a great night it turned out to be. The landlord and landlady, bar staff and locals were incredibly welcoming and the pub had a great atmosphere and played some great music. Thank you The Quarryman for giving us such a memorable night.

Habibs Cromford fish bar halal
25-27 Market Pl, Cromford, MatlockFantastic chips. Sorry I can't vouch for the fish as I am vegetarian. Habib always seems to be open when I go past, often at the end of a long local walk and the temptation is too great to resist. Always had a good portion of really hot chips.

Le Mistral Wirksworth - French Restaurant
23 Market Pl, Wirksworth, MatlockFrench style bar/bistro in the centre of Wirksworth with good menu choices, specials board and lunchtime offer. Extra seating downstairs. Extensive wine selection. Only real downside was that we struggled to find anywhere to park nearby on a Friday night.Vegetarian options: French restaurants aren't generally the best for vegetarians but Le Mistral has a choice of interesting dishes

Sour Cow
12 Market Pl, Wirksworth, MatlockThe coffee and cake were very nice - home made cake, too - but it took a while to arrive as there was only one member of staff on duty and she seemed a bit stressed trying to do 4 cooked breakfasts plus my coffee order, then a table of 7 turned up so she was struggling. I'm sure that with more staff it would work much better. Definitely would go back, on a future visit to Wirksworth.

Websters Cafe
31 St Johns St, Wirksworth, MatlockI live in Wirksworth & have visited at least once a month. Lovely scones ,friendly service. Yes you do wait a little time sometimes but it is a popular place. I took my Grandaughter (11mths) recently, sat outside not to bother anyone but staff was welcoming. Offering to get us a highchair ,asking if we had anything we needed acknowledged grandaugther. The village has a really good place to visit. !
