We have had a couple of meals here. We found them all excellent. Mussels were superb as was duck pasta, Pleasant spacious atmosphere and friendly and attentive staff with a reasonably priced wine list

Unfortunately understaffed meaning service did not exist. Should have reduced the menu and limited walkins as simply could not cope. That said, food was very good but waiting times not acceptable. A disappointing end to our trip to Devon.

Just had a very special gluten free Pizza to take away tonight from this restaurant. Being coeliac and very careful with my gluten free diet it was great to get a really tasty gluten free pizza to take home. Really yummy . I have eaten here alot of times as Ray does cater alot for people with dietary needs, but first time for a takeaway pizza. I will certainly do this again. Thanks Ray and staff.

We asked friends for recommendations for a restaurant in the Axminster area and people kept mentioning Pisanis. We then realised that they meant Ray's. The service was excellent although it did seem a bit odd that our table staff wore shorts. We all had starters and mains. The pasta dish was very tasty but I couldn't finish it. Likewise my friends couldn't finish their pizzas. One friend thought her pizza was too loaded with cheese and a little over cooked but generally thought the food was well priced and a great atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious food, lovely ambience and great table service. We had the salmon supreme with sauteed potatoes and a meatball pizza. Both very filling and extremely tasty. I'm shocked by some of the poor reviews - I highly recommend!

Being one of the only restaurants in the the close proximity of our hotel, we had little choice but to go Italian, but always enjoy a good pasta which is usually inexpensive and tasty, so gave it a go.Two lasagnes - clearly precooked and heated up in the microwave - scalding hot. One spaghetti bolognaise, precooked sauce was good. Wild mushroom and gorgonzola pasta with rocket - Food was luke warm, only button mushrooms sliced, no 'wild' mushrooms, asked the waitress where the gorgonzola was and was told quite rudely that it was mixed in with the sauce, clearly short on cheese that day, instead of rocket, there was chopped up lettuce. Absolutely tasteless meal and after i had questioned the waitress she had a mutter about me to the other waitress close by and within hearing range. Then the bill came - VERY expensive for a mediocre meal and bad service. Will not return

The first time we visited this restaurant it was excellent. We had starters and main courses, all of which were absolutely delicious. The restaurant was busy, our waitress was excellent and Ray came out and described to me how the skate special was cooked before I ordered. We really looked forward to returning later in the week. Sadly that was not so good. Our reservation wasn’t on the list; the waitresses had a very unprofessional discussion about where to seat us; the service was so slow we gave up waiting to order a dessert; when we tried to pay they’d lost our bill. A real shame, the food’s good but the front of house needs to get its act together,

Nice staff serving, however wasn't happy how the food was served, asked for olives, no side dip.. asked they said the balsamic vinegar was in the olives with the oil. Did ask for separate dish of the condiment and did bring it over.The sauce on my chicken was all over the plate & the veg.. think it would be nice to serve separately once again..didn't think to ask I suppose.Chips were lovely, Pasta was a lot of it and was tasty my husband did say. However nice restaraunt and nicely decorated med style.
