Cracking full breakfast, keenly priced and ready in minutes. Had a tiny issue on a previous visit - really just my bad time-keeping - and the very nice chap who runs it sorted it instantly.

The Tytherleigh Arms
Tytherleigh, AxminsterWent there for the food. With 4 kids, they were very accommodating for us and the food is excellent. Even without the kids menu, they made excellent fish and chips for them which they all ate. Highly highly recommend.

West St, AxminsterBooked as a couple on the Monday night pasta and pizza deal. Brilliant service, lovely food, great restaurant. However don't say yes to the offer of water for the table as they'll charge you £5.50 for it without telling you. Very naughty and left us feeling a bit miffed with what actually is a fantastic restaurant.

Kit & Kee Catering
Great Trill Farm, Pudleylake Rd, Musbury, AxminsterIt was a short notice business lunch for 16 and the Kit & Kee team rose to the occasion brilliantly. A selection of delicious canapes, trout, asparagus and salad for main course and Eton mess with rhubarb to finish. Jason was cooking and Janet was serving and we couldn't have hoped for more. We shall certainly be using Kit & Kee in the future.

The Community Waffle House
First Floor, Trinity House, Trinity Square, AxminsterReally enjoyed my visit to The community waffle house. I had the soulful waffle and iced strawberry matcha, and both were excellent.
The soulful was a great savoury choice - well balanced and the flavours worked really well together.
The strawberry matcha was not too sweet. It was a nice pairing with the waffle and made the whole visit feel a little more special.
The cafe has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and feels like a proper community spot.
If you are in Axmister and want something tasty with a bit of personality, this is definitely worth a visit.

My wife had liver mash bacon and peas, again very nice,
The sweet we both had was saluted caramel cheese cake, we both said probably the best desert we have ever had, a very enjoyable hour and half.

Trinity Square, AxminsterSandys Sweets is a cute little traditional sweet shop in the middle of the town square in the heart of Axminster next to the sweet little Tiffin Box Cafe.
We love Sandy, she is friendly and funny, loves the dogs and is a wealth of local information ?
Vegetarian options: Vegan sweets and sugar free chocolate available
Dietary restrictions: Sugar free and gluten free chocolate, dairy free sweets
Parking: Situated in the town square where there is free parking gor up yo 2 hours apart from Thursdays which is market day !
Kid-friendliness: It's a sweet shop...what's not kid friendly about a sweet shop ?

Axminster Inn
1 Silver Street, AxminsterWhat a joy to find a pub with such well cared for real ales. I wasn't feeling too great, so couldn't have as many as I would have liked. The IPA and 200 (both from Palmers) were top notch. I should add that the staff and atmosphere equal the quality of the beer. I am tempted to move to Axminster to have this as my local!

Lucky House Chinese Takeaway
Lyme Street, AxminsterOrdered takeaway from here on the first night of our holiday and always like to leave a review for places I relied on reviews for myself!
Nice food and enjoyed our meal. I always find the crispy shredded beef and satay sauce to be a good litmus test of chinese takeaways - crispy shredded beed was nicely crispy and tasty! Satay sauce wasn't so good - but that may be personal preference.
I would reccomend!

The Old weighbridge Building, Woodmead Rd, AxminsterHave ordered from here many times for the last couple of years, food is always delicious and promptly delivered. I had one issue at the end of 2025 when there was a delay due to them being super busy and was offered a discount for my next order. I have just called and explained this and amazingly this offer was honoured. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Superb in every aspect.

Costa Coffee (Axminster)
1 Victoria Place, AxminsterCame in around half 1 today and the lovely staff, honestly made our visit. Usually most staff in costa are unapproachable and rude (especially in bridport) but the smiley young lad and lady working in axminsters costa go above and beyond. They made us feel welcome straight away with polite hellos and nice conversation. Coffee was fantastic as usual, and the atmosphere was great. All round i think costa should be showing this store some recognition for being one of the best in the south west.

Park Farm, Trinity Hill Road, AxminsterBooked a table for 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. Staff could not have been more helpful in seating us , getting chalk boards ,high chairs dog bowls etc.
We had the lunchtime menu everything was so fresh tasty and delicious and filling after a stormy time on the beach. Great choices for vegetarians and meat eaters. We also had the elderflower cider which we liked so much I bought for stocking fillers for the adults!
We would not visit Lyme without a trip here .

Axe Valley Kebab House
South Street, AxminsterSo this evening was the first time that I tried to kebab from here I always use the own one locally and I have done for many years but going there this evening I had a mixed chicken and Donna kebab with chips. Customer service is nothing less than five stars. If there’s only one negative thing I could say this is more of a preference thing maybe I wouldn’t have fries I prefer normal chips again. This is personal preference. I’ve seen some of the reviews already put up like 3.5 stars now this is not true in my opinion and it looks like people are leaving them to make him look worse than what they are but as I said five stars fantastic customer service very nice and clean. It looked immaculate. I will be back as your new customer.
