This is an excellent thai takeaway in Barnstaple. Good authentic Thai food -I had the vege thai green curry and egg fried rice. The fried rice was not the standard mediocre offerings of a normal takeaway - it was beautiful rice with chunks of fried egg and fresh spring onion ! Huge portions .The front end of this takeaway is a small asian supermarket that sells frozen and dry food. Would definitely recommend. ( note - as a first time customer, i wasn't quite sure where to park and how to get there but all good in the end !).Dietary restrictions: The lady who took the order was very good in that when i ordered my vege dish, she asked if i could have fish sauce or not as they could omit it for vegan customers.

Silver Tree is now take away only but they still have the Thai/Oriental shop where frozen and shelf items can be purchased at a reasonable price. The owners are very sociable and always ready to point you to the correct shelf. Most of the time they come out and select what I want rather than try to point me in the rite direction.Kid-friendliness: My children go around the shelves and pile the goodies on the counter.

It was one of the worst Thai worst food I’ve ever had. Firstly they do not make their curry fresh, so substituting fish paste from the curry was a straight No. The curry was bland, lacked any taste and the tofu pieces were limited. The takeaway boxes were terrible, the curry spilt before we even got home. I would recommend not buying your Thai food from here.

Great portion sizes, we had a curry each but shared rice as also shared sides, more than plenty!Vegetarian options: Fried tofu was really crispy and yummy

Outstanding. We are from Yorkshire and have lots of thai restaurants but this was amazing. Honestly the best we have ever had. Brilliant portion size, fantastic flavour. I had the beef masaman and the beef just melted on your tongue. Squid was huge and tender. We aim to go back asap?

We got 3 starters and 4 mains to take away. All were really big portions and well worth the 45 min wait and the £70. If you love genuine Thai food (not Chinese chefs making Thai food) then you'll love this place. They also have a little shop within their takeaway too. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. If we're ever in Barnstaple again, we'll definitely come again.
