“Very friendly lady welcomed us along with a very well behaved dog called Nikita. I had a very tasty small breakfast. Every thing sourced locally. Great views down Bideford High St. There are lots of tasty things on themenu. Lovely cafe.”

Lovely coffee great cake so we will be back again soon as we only live down the road. “The cakes were AMAZING, I bought extra to take home. Freshly made food. Good quality & great flavours. The tea was proper & made in a pot too.Staff were really friendly and the service was great.Vegetarian options: I had a mozzarella & pesto panini. It was really nice & fresh.”

“Stopped for a quick lunch - lovely homemade sausage roll and pasty platter options. Great presentation, friendly attentive service. Only reason for the 4 for atmosphere, was because the door was open for fresh air which to the Aussies in the party was rather chilly. But that's just personal preference. Lovely scones with plentiful clotted cream. Thank you to the lovely staff from the Bideford/Aussie family!”

“5 star for food.However, we were shown to a table then . . . ignored (it is table service)A lady they knew came in and was seated then the same lady who showed US to our seat served her.We are local (by virtue of having lived in Barnstaple for the last 40 odd years and my husband being born in Braunton. I too am a Devonian)I would like to be able to say we had a lovely visit. The first time we came a few months ago was very different.My husband wanted to leave, but eventually he went to the counter.We felt quite uncomfortable tbh.When we did get our food, it was delicious and the staff who brought it were very friendly.”

“Food is great ,tasty and very reasonably priced. Sitting on board you can watch the mullet swimming by, all the different sea birds feed,cormorants,egrets, storks,oyster catchers, geese, absolutely brilliant to watch We go most weekends and look forward to our next visit. Anete and Bob are great hosts.”

“Very good cafe, nice ambience and very friendly staff. The coffee was great as were the couple of rounds of granary toast and marmalade. Noting the was quite thick but lovely and light, after the event I felt that one slice would have been enough for me so had to walk off the calories around the very quaint Appledore. Dog friendly downstairs and very reasonably priced for what we had.”
