Crab Linguine was fantastic!! We didn't make a booking but on reflection that was a mistake. It felt as though we were almost in the way and dogs welcomed but not necessarily dog friendly. 2 young guys working were fab!! Food was quick and tasty.

We were shown to the ‘Snug’ which was really good for us because we had our puppy with us. We were looked after by Chris, he was very friendly and looked after us. Food was good. Was a busy lunch, lots of dogs in the bar and a nice atmosphere.

The inside is done out lovely the location is picturesque. However the staff acted inappropriately whilst customers were still there.Nearer the end of the evening, a member of the kitchen staff came out to make a drink. As he left, he smacked the bottom of a female staff member at the bar.It was very inappropriate, especially considering I was there for dinner with my young family

Visited for lunch. And our two dogs joined us. We all had a lovely time. Great to visit such a nice Dog Friendly pub. The food was brilliant. And the locally produced Mariners beer was also great. Service was spot on too.

Rocked up at The Boathouse, after a bracing walk, to a warm friendly welcome from Sarah, who managed front of house so brilliantly. Swift but relaxed service, delicious food (the fishcake and ham dishes were accompanied by beautiful sauces) and great views towards Appledore. Dinner finished off with a tasty Irish coffee! Highly recommended, although we were lucky to get a table without booking at 5pm.

Great location, always enjoy our visits.. Sunday roast could have been improved with some greens (minor whinge) other items missing as waiter explained kitchen had run out. (we ate in the early evening) however we enjoyed what we had.

Had a lovely lunch here on Tuesday for my husband's birthday. The food was delicious, beautifully cooked and well presented. Staff were lovely. Great place and nice atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

Great food (crab linguini especially), friendly service and nice atmosphere. Amazing views from roof terrace. Would thoroughly recommend.

Good main course, but pudding was very disappointing. Wife is Coeliac and I am Dairy Free. Only very boring DF ice cream for me, and a very boring, flavourless, GF trifle (£8) for my wife.Would we go again? Probably not.Dietary restrictions: No real imagination in substituting flavours on DF meals. The fish on the day dish had garlic butter, but mine was just cooked in oil. They could have added garlic to oil.

I don’t think there was anything left on the plates. Amazing food, the apple pie was sublime and would definitely go back just for that. Really lovely atmosphere.

We visited the Boat House twice in the past few days while on holiday to Devon. We came back as we enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much. Menu was very good and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we will definitely be coming back on our next visit.
