Came for breakfast out of season. Really good menu, lots of choice! Nice building and location with parking paid nearby and low prices. The staff were great. Definitely recommend!

Can’t believe we haven’t had brunch here before! It was fantastic - great service and delicious food. We will be back.

Best Devon cream tea I have tasted, great location, service & atmosphere. We stopped in after a great 8 mile walk and got warm scones and a cuppa, a great end to the day!

Staff were welcoming and gave us a choice of several tables where our dog would be most comfortable. Quick and attentive service throughout. Really impressed with the food. Had the Caribbean Lamb curry for main which was out of this world. Lamb fell apart and there was plenty of it. Also had the Thai Moules which were a nice change from the mariniere (which was also available). The moules themselves were also huge. Couldn’t fault, and would 100% come back just for the curry alone.

A lovely family meal at Blue Groove. There were eleven of us, three generations and we all agreed that it was a great night. Excellent food served by friendly and helpful staff in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We have been coming to Croyde with our family for several years and we always go to Blue Groove it is part of our holiday. The petite lady who served us was charming and we made a point of thanking her before we left

Staying at the Chalet in Saunton Sands, we were so excited to return to Blue Groove, but that was so short lived. Last year, in September, we came here for three breakfast's and four dinners - that's how great it was! Firstly it was 30 degrees and this place has no air conditioning, so please be prepared to roast alive in here. The doors being open makes no difference at all. I had booked, but despite that, we were sat on the verge of outside surrounded by a group of 12, all doing shots, drunk, whilst looking after children and yes, a baby. A BABY! OK, I want everyone to have a great time, but the noise level made it unpleasant for everyone surrounding them. Now I'm a party gal, but this isn't a nightclub, so I thought "Am I being a stick in the mud?" Maybe, but when I saw all the filthy looks toward two very loud big tables, I thought that maybe, it wasn't me. Btw, I never leave negative comments, but I simply had to with BG. They'll be making more money now than they did a year ago when it was 18 degrees, so this may get ignored. I run a shopping centre, so I get that maximising the turnover is the lifeblood. However, only fill these tables if you have the manpower. Right? The starter of Pork Bon Bons - delicious, but you get three bite size balls. I had mussells, (my fave), and hubby had curry. He really enjoyed his as I did mine, but the portion sizes have gone way down in the last year. Another reason we returned was due to the outstanding customer service we had in September 2022. This year, the waitresses couldn't even crack a smile. So, we ate and left quickly - usually we'd both have a few cocktails, but we couldn't wait to get out. One bad experience doesn't deserve a bad review, so we thought we'd go back for breakfast. Nowhere else was open, so we went back. We were fifth in the queue and entered at 09:05. At 09:55, we still hadn't received our order, so hubby went out to put more money in the meter. As soon as he left, it came out, (typical), so I asked if they could keep it warm until he returned, only to be told, this isn't something they do. By the time he returned, his eggs were cold and he was angry, he left the whole breakfast - such a shame. When they took the plates away, no one asked why he'd left the entire breakfast, untouched. What angered me the most was nobody should wait an hour for a breakfast. When seating us, they should have said "It will be an hour for food", despite only being fifth in the queue. That would have been fine - I get it completely. The waiter seeing people to their tables could see that we had waited an hour, he could have said "So sorry this is taking so long, I'll see where it's got to". But no and for that, I'm really sorry and sad. There aren't many places to eat in Saunton / Croyde and we visit either Oceonpoint or the Chalet every year and have done for ten years. No matter how good their food can be, the lack of disrespect for customers, who no doubt all work very had for their holiday spending money, aren't valued here, unlike other independent eateries. In this cost of living crisis, yes, people must feel valued. As I say, I never leave reviews, this being my first and I've only done this because I feel so angry and upset that a proud small business we experienced in 2022, has just transformed into greed and disregard concerning customer satisfaction. In fact I feel so bad, I'll now write a good review. The waiter passed our table ten plus times and not once did he check in to ask if we wanted another drink, or indeed where the food was. Such a shame. :(

Best restaurant in the village. I always book when my friends and I go surfing/drinking for the weekend. Food is always really good and normally have some very interesting specials. Staff are very friendly and the place looks great. Looking forward to my next visit.

Unsure if we visited on a rough day (Monday) but the service was very lacking.Welcome wasn't very warm, we were vaguely directed to tables outside. After placing our order at the bar we had a 15-20 min wait for drinks. Only half arrived and we had to request to have the others. The same situation with the food although the wait was much longer there. After waiting for another 20-25 mins we went to enquire about our food and were told 'we're very busy' (the place was half full at most at this point). Eventually half of the dishes arrived. We followed up on the others and 3-4 arrived. Then a member of staff came out and checked if we had everything (we were still waiting on a final person's lunch).Food was fine. Not great but certainly not bad. The table opposite ours sent back plates of food which were brought out cold.No apologies were given for the long wait times and delays to food or indeed any conveying of information at all from staff. Ultimately this could have been just not great service on a Monday afternoon but based on our experience, we wouldn't head here again which is a shame.

Outstanding quality food - even the burgers taste refined and "clean" - I'd highly recommend the Fuego burger which is a grilled chicken fillet burger and has slices of spicy Chorizo and a spicy mayo - perfect. Two days before I had the Thai Mussels, and these are by far some of the best mussels I've ever tasted - and being half Belgian, I've had a few! My partner had the Houmous Bowl which looked and tasted extremely fresh and fragrant, and then the other night she had the Kerelan Chicken curry, which again, was fresh and delicious.Staff were efficient and attentive and did it all with a smile - highly recommended!September 2023 Update - had the Thai fishcake salad and Thai green king prawn curry during our stay here in September - just as good as three months ago! ?Dietary restrictions: Plenty of gluten free meals available, however if it's a GFO (gluten free option) meal then unfortunately all they'll do is remove the offending item which then means there's less on the plate for the same amount of money, or offer you more of one of the GF items which usually works out cheaper for them.

Booked a table sat early evening, obviously it was busy. Had a seat in the conservatory next to a table of very noisy loud, see who can laugh the loudest group. We couldn’t hear a word we were saying to each other. Garlic bread was dry, where’s the garlic. My chicken burger was average, fries warm at the best, hubby’s burger was good but also warm fries. We’ve eaten here loads in the past so maybe an off night. We should have asked to move to another table in hind sight.

On our way to Saunton Sands and we stopped in Croyde to find breakfast, we saw the Blue Groove and the lady on the door welcomed us in with our little dog. We were taken to a table straight away. The staff were very friendly and gave tips on where to visit while here on holiday. The service was good and food arrived promptly. Breakfast was really good quality, flavoursome and hot. Excellent coffee too! Interior was modern, bright and toilets were clean. Definitely worth a visit.

We popped in one morning for breakfast with our two dogs. We were taken to a table straight away. The staff are very good and the service is very good. Breakfast was really nice, didn't wait too long considering it was very busy. Worth a visit.

Long wait for food, 45 minutes was far too long for toasted tea cakes that were barely warmed. BLT was good and a few GF choices were very welcome. Staff were friendly but blamed it on the kitchen being busy, it was Sunday lunchtime.
