We were a large group booked into Hobb’s Bistro and were pleasantly surprised at being given a ‘private’ room. Lots to choose from on the menu and perfect, friendly & professional staff. We opted for a variety of dishes and can thoroughly recommend the seafood chowder and the mussels (from Fowey). These we did have to order in advance…..totally worth it! The portions are large so we couldn’t manage to even look at the dessert menu. With wine, cider & tip, it worked out at £35pp. Brilliant value for money and definitely a restaurant we would return to.

Went here on a Saturday night and arrived before a large party arrived. Our food was nice and portions were very large all things considered. But the floor looked pretty dirty which was off putting. The restaurant is all very cosy so if there is a large party or group in you do feel all part of it, but I didn't understand why someone had a nickname of KitKat, I may never know... In all a nice restaurant and good meal. Just clean the floor.

Just got back from a fabulous meal at Hobb’s Bistro- it’s our final night away and thought it was time to try something new as we have been to Croyde many times over the years but never tried the bistro. The food was absolutely fantastic, fresh and flavoursome, the team were so lovely and friendly, the perfect atmosphere (especially for us with a 4 week old) they were super accommodating with the buggy and we had plenty of room. Both myself and my husband said that this was our favourite meal of our time away! We will definitely be returning and bringing the rest of the family too- thank you!

Table booked Service ok Stone floor didn’t look too clean The food was average at best - the crispy beef ordered as a starter was tasteless - not crispy at all - and surrounded by a massive amount of batter. Massive plate of whitebait served as a starter would have been better in a smaller portion had it been served with a small amount of brown bread - it was served on its own Ribs “from the grill” appeared to have been braised The Otherwise nice burger was spoiled by the presentation of what appeared to be tinned or bottled white onions - not caramelised as stated There are other places locally who are far more likely to get a second visit when we get to Croyde again

Lovely meal out with family. Managed to fit us in for a last minute booking.

Great food, reasonable prices and good service. As a large party we had the side room all to ourselves which was an added bonus.

Came here on our first night in Croyde and had a brilliant meal here last Sunday. Shame to see some mixed reviews on here - we couldn’t fault it! The food was brilliant and we were pleased with the service and value, too. Would definitely recommend it.

Average at best. Unfortunately all other tables received incredible service, were checked on throughout, however we weren’t asked and had to ask for additional menus, for water etc. The food was okay, our mussels were lovely but unfortunately our daughter had to send her burger back as it was purple and full of gristle. They did rectify this and made a small pizza for her. Unfortunately we had all finished by the time this had come out. We wouldn’t return but was not too bad.

We went this evening booked under the name Warren starters chowder and the mussels were fantastic my wife’s lamb tagine was ok I had rack of ribs the worst food I have had the pleasure of paying for membrane on rear not barbecue but a barbecue sauce for dipping on side the ribs made Aldi look 5star .Waitress asked what I thought when I said the ribs were worse than something you can microwave at Tesco she grinned and said she would tell the chef probably meaning the microwave as no Charing on meat at all this wasn’t said in jest I paid the full bill as you pay your money and take your chance but I would never give them my money again go to the thatch pub 100% better

Fabulous meal fairly priced. Good service and atmosphere. Wine available from £20 a bottle. All round very good for the money.

Pastries were dry, flavourless and clearly microwaved. Not worth going.

What a lovely Bistro. We stopped in for an evening meal and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend a visit here and you can even take your dog with you

We've been remiss in writing a review - apologies to the owners. We ate here whilst on holiday a month ago in putsborough. The food here is delicious, the atmosphere is lovely and the staff really friendly and helpful. The burger was one of the best I've had - sourced from local meat. Chips were great too. We didn't have pudding as we were really full. It's quite tricky to find as its eclipsed by the size of other restaurants in the locale, but bring your eyes down and search for the sign... It's absolutely worth it!
